The next morning, we got up, got dressed and ready to start our day. The mood was a somber one as neither of us really spoke or said anything of importance. It was like Wyatt was distancing himself from me, but in reality, he just didn’t know how to process these emotions. I understood it though. If it was the other way around, I am not sure I wouldn’t have locked him in a room and force him to stay. I knew he was going to feel everything that happened to me. I knew I could block emotions from him, but I didn’t know about physical pain.

Reed, Wyatt, Kelly and I sat in the kitchen eating our breakfast. Reed and Kelly were being very touchy and already in love. I saw them supporting a new marking on their necks and I knew they had completed the mating process.

“Congratulations!” I said as I grinned from ear to ear.

Kelly did the obligatory her hair to the side so I could see her mark. It was a beautiful black and blue marking of the moon and stars. It fit her perfectly.

“We will need to celebrate! You will be Luna here!” I said excitingly for her. I started clapping and hugged her. She deserved something nice.

“For Fucks sake!” Wyatt yelled and stomped out of the room. Kelly looked sad and heart broken, and Reed looked at me. We both knew his problem and neither of us blamed him for it, but Kelly didn’t know, and it hurt her feelings. She thought his anger was towards her.

“We had a… disagreement, he is happy for his baby sister.” I said, trying to sooth her.

Reed nodded at how I wanted to play this. “Don’t worry love, he has already told me he is happy for us. He just woke up on the wrong side of the bed.”

“Grant won’t be here for a couple hours of, why don’t we go for a walk?”

“Okay! There is a path I have been wanting to explore!” Kelly said and ran off to get ready.

“I got him, don’t worry” Reed said to me.

“He won’t be okay till I come back. You may need to have sedation ready” I said.

Reed gave me a look like he was examining me. I saw it click and he knew what I was telling him without telling him. “Just come back”, he said gravely, and walked out.

By the time I put on my shoes at the front door, Kelly came bounding down the steps.

“Are you ready yet?” She asked.

“I am now!” I said as I finished tying my shoelaces in a knot.

Pulling me out the door, Kelly was bouncing with excitement. Her future was a bright one.

“I never thought I would be a Luna one day! I mean, I enjoyed doing my mom’s work. Organizing parties and events, decorating and style have always been my thing! I really love it here. So beautiful with the trees and animals!”

“Look at you, got kissed by a love bug!”

“Oh, shut up!” she said but Kelly had a huge grin plastered on her face. “Here is the path I want to take! I have seen this many times, but I haven’t been able to go down it!”

“Okay, let’s go! Watch out for the poison oak though!”

She was right, this place was beautiful! Thick forest filled with nature of every kind. Green covered the trees while hues of purple, yellow and pink covered the grown in weeds of flowers. The air was thick with pollen and the musk of different animals.

“I think you will be a good Luna.” I said, making small talk. It was nice to be normal for a minute and not have the topic on me.

“We will need to go shopping and get a dress!”

“Oh, yes! What do you think you will want?”

“A white one! Like a wedding dress. Fitted and flared at the end with a train. A lot of sparkle and a little risky.”

“I feel like you have given this some thought,” I said, laughing at her.

“Time to go?” She asked

“Yeah, time to go.”

“Okay, I need to start planning anyway!”

We made our way back to the packhouse. As soon as we walked out of the forest, I saw Grant, Reed and Wyatt standing by the back door talking. They all stopped when they saw us coming. I stared straight at Grant and felt myself instantly get defensive.

“Ooookkayy, I am going to just go…” Kelly said, reading my tension. Being discreet was not her thing. She kissed Reed and walked inside.

“Let’s go to somewhere more private and functional” Reed said as he led us to the gym. No one said a word as we walked. Reed had set up mats around the walls and put away all the equipment, so they didn’t get damaged.

“First thing, you boys can watch from over there. I need her full focus and if she is worried about you then she can’t do what I need her to do”, Grant said, looking at them.

Wyatt looked beyond pissed and Reed sighed, grabbed his arm and lead him off to the side where they both stood with their arms over their chests. Damn, Wyatt is fucking sexy when he stands like that.

“Focus Nina!” Grant yelled as he grabbed my arm. On instinct, I sent a heavy electric current to his hand that sent him flying back as his body twitched.

“Shit sorry!” I yelled. I heard the boys smirk and Grant groan.

“I feel like you got the hang of that ability…” Grant said as he rubbed his hand.

“Yes, I do. I need help with controlling this blast of energy I get when I am mad and emotional.”

“Hmm, I got an idea” Grant said with an evil smile.
