Encore of the Avenging Muse (Sylvia and Rupert) novel Chapter 659

"Miss, Tristan is in his study."

"Got it."

Sienna let out a cold laugh, turned, and followed Alfred into the study.

When closing the door, Alfred slammed it shut with force.

A second later, the sound of someone hitting the floor echoed from inside, followed instantly by a harsh reprimand.

"Useless trash! You still managed to let him send you back completely untouched!"

...

At the hospital, inside the Physical Therapy Room.

After the splint was strapped onto Sylvia's hand, a sudden jolt of agony caused a cold sweat to break out across her body.

"It hurts."

"You have to bear it. This prevents your muscles from atrophying," the doctor gently reminded her.

"Okay."

Sylvia gritted her teeth against the pain and nodded.

But as soon as the doctor walked away, she felt like she couldn't take it anymore, biting her lip mercilessly.

Before long, the metallic taste of blood filled her mouth.

She didn't want anyone to see her weakness, so she simply bowed her head and endured it.

Suddenly, warmth enveloped her injured hand.

Stunned, Sylvia looked up to see Rupert slowly taking a seat in front of her.

She tried to yank her hand back, but she couldn't muster an ounce of strength. The effort only intensified her pain.

Rupert gripped her fingers securely and frowned. "Stop moving."

Sylvia watched the stream of patients entering the room, forcing her to lower her voice as she gritted out, "Please let me go. Do you think I'm not pathetic enough already?"

Hearing this, Rupert's eyes darkened slightly, and a heavy silence settled over his tall, imposing frame.

He gently stroked Sylvia's trembling hand, which shook from the machine's tension, his throat tight. "You really have me by the throat now."
