Stering with My Beastly Arriv
Chapter 362 A Damsel in Distress

“I kind of feel bad for them. Paul said, thinking it over. “Coming over to get close to us was definitely part of it, but the other part? I think they genuinely thought we were too nervous to go get food, and they wanted to help.”
Erin nodded. “Yeah.”
Her ability and Paul’s were similar in a certain sense. Reading the Newton siblings‘ intentions hadn’t been hard for either of them.
Robin’s tone was light, almost idle. “If you want something, you’ve gotta go after it yourself. If those two are smart enough, they’ll strike while the iron’s hot. Who knows, maybe I’ll go soft and decide to help
them out.”
The meal wound down, and everyone from Tyrant Base left the cafeteria with satisfied smiles. It had been a long time since any of them had eaten until they were actually full.
As they headed upstairs, Robin caught the sound of a commotion drifting from a nearby corner. A man’s voice threaded through it, furious and vicious. “You crazy woman, dragging that little freak around. You came here just to curse this whole base, didn’t you?”
“Wait.” Robin held up a hand. Everyone stopped.
Another voice answered, one she recognized, stubborn and sharp. “You came looking for trouble with us! We didn’t do anything to you!”
That was unmistakably Willow.
The man let out a cold laugh. “You think you need to come to us? You parading that monster brother of yours around the base is already more than enough. You’re an eyesore to every single person here.”
“You’re being completely unreasonable.”
“W-Wil…” Theobold’s voice shook, the words stumbling out of him, but there was a hard resolve underneath. “They’re right. I’m dragging you down. If it weren’t for me, they wouldn’t give you such a hard time…”
Willow cut him off, fierce and immediate. “Don’t you
dare say that.
“You’re my brother, Theo. Protecting you is my job. These people are coming after us because they’re trash, not because of anything you did. Mom and Dad are gone. You’re the only family I have left. Don’t ever talk about being a burden.”
“Aww, would you listen to that. What a touching little sister–brother moment.” The man’s voice dripped with mockery. “Here’s the deal. Either you kick your freak of a brother out, or you both get lost. Unless you want every single person in this base to feel sick every time they lay eyes on you.”
A loud scuffle followed. The man had gotten physical.
“Get off me! I said get off! Don’t touch me, don’t you touch my brother, do you hear me?”

Willow thrashed against him. Theobold watched Willow being manhandled, and something inside him
snapped. He launched himself forward like a cannonball and drove his foot straight into the man’s groin.
The scream that came out of the man was inhuman. His legs clamped together, both hands clutching between them, his face draining to white. Sweat the size of beads rolled down his temples as he doubled over, curled his body tight.
“You… you’re dead…
He turned his head by chance and spotted several people passing by not far away.
His expression shifted to desperate relief. He raised his voice to a shout. “Somebody help! The freak attacked me! He’s out of control! We can’t keep them in this base anymore!”
The passersby all turned to look. The moment they saw it was Willow and Theobold, ugly smiles spread across their faces.
“Oh, it’s the freak–show siblings. Rolf was generous enough to let you stay here, and this is how you repay him? Attacking people? You really are monsters. You should’ve been thrown out a long time ago.”
More and more people gathered, every voice laced with venom. Willow stood her ground, jaw tight. “Don’t push us. He started it. He came after us first.”
“Oh yeah?” A guy with a mop of faded yellow hair swaggered forward, every inch of him radiating punk
energy.
The dye job was clearly from before the apocalypse. Months without upkeep had left a cap of dark roots on top while the bleached ends hung dry and brittle as straw, making him look more ridiculous than intimidating.
“Just ‘cause you say he started it, that makes it true? You got proof?”
They closed in as they talked, step by step. Willow pulled Theobold back, but there was nowhere to go. Within seconds, they were pinned against the wall.
The yellow–haired guy sucked his teeth, a greedy light flickering in his eyes. “Your brother might be a freak, but you turned out alright. Tell you what. Say yes, and I’ll look after you from now on. How’s that sound?”
“Yeah, you love your little brother so much, right? Prove it. Don’t just talk, The boys and I already worked it out. You agree to be with us, and your brother becomes our brother too. Nobody’ll ever mess with either of you again.”
