Chapter 423 Blazing Attacks
The shock deepened even further when the survivors spotted that one of the fighters had only one arm. One arm, and it hadn’t slowed him down even a fraction. His ferocity was genuinely terrifying to witness.
“Watch out!”
Robin flicked her wrist, and a razor-sharp ice spike shot forward at blinding speed, aimed directly at… Sevyn.
The sudden strike left Sevyn completely frozen in place. For a split second, he forgot he could even use his ability to escape. He stood there, helpless and wide-eyed, watching the spike grow larger and larger in his vision.
The air around him seemed to shed every last trace of warmth. Then it grazed his cheek and flew right past him.
A wet, violent crack split the air behind him.
It was the unmistakable sound of something being driven clean through. Sevyn, still clutching Ryan against his chest, turned his head. His whole body was shaking.
A zombie was falling backward, its jaw hanging wide open, crashing face-up to the ground.
An ice spike was buried deep inside its open mouth.
It had punched straight through the back of the zombie’s skull from the inside, leaving a gaping, horrifying hole.
Robin’s brow furrowed. “If you’re not going to fight, stop standing there making things worse for everyone. Find somewhere safe to set Ryan down, then use your ability to help get people out of danger.”
Sevyn snapped back to reality and agreed immediately. He moved Ryan and his wife to a safer spot, then started using his ability to dart rapidly across the battlefield and pull more people out of harm’s way.
Robin also had Winter raise a frozen barrier around the survivors, sealing them safely within. As time wore on, the zombie numbers thinned. The wounded were moved to safer ground.
It was time to end this.
“Everyone, fall back,” Robin said, her voice icy and flat.
She watched the snarling horde as pale blue elemental energy rippled and churned through
the air around her.
The temperature around them plummeted. Then the air began to shift, growing thick and wet

and heavy with something none of them could name.
The bone-deep chill that had everyone’s skin crawling softened into something else entirely..
Something clicked for Dylan. “She’s trying to force-convert her ice ability into water
Ice was a mutation of water at its core, and the two shared the same fundamental root. But converting between them was far from simple.
It demanded immense mental strength and an extraordinary degree of control over one’s own ability.
She was already bending her ice ability to her will, and on top of that, a faint, low rumble of thunder stirred somewhere in the air above them.
Henry had been riding the high of yesterday’s breakthrough. This single moment brought him crashing back to earth.
His breakthrough gave him solid control over his own ability, and that was the full extent of it.
But Robin was force-converting one ability. At the same time, she was splitting her mental strength to manage an entirely different one.
In that moment, Henry couldn’t deny it anymore. Robin was the strongest person he’d encountered since the apocalypse began.
Bar none.
Sure, they’d been under Robin’s wing from the very first day the world fell apart, which meant their frame of reference wasn’t exactly broad.
But flip that around, and it said the exact same thing: outside of Robin, there was almost no one else left worth calling strong.
The moisture in the air grew heavier still. Every movement felt like pushing through deep
water.

Chapter 424 Electrifying
Robin’s eyes finally snapped upen
A boom like
Fat, heavy raindrops hammered down from above, and within seconds, a downpour of biblical scale crashed over the camp, drenching every zombie below from head to toe
Violet lightning coiled and writhed through the churning clouds. Robin felt the last of her mental strength guttering out like a candle in a hurricane, and a sharp, stabbing pain she almost never felt anymore sank into her temples.
At her current strength, she couldn’t remember the last time she’d come anywhere close to running dry.
Force-converting her ability’s nature truly bled her reserves down to nothing.
But if this conversion held, every future attempt would cost less. That was the trade she’d made.
Cold sweat beaded at her hairline. Her face had gone ashen and pale.
Robin’s teeth locked together. She dragged every last shred of mental strength from the deepest part of herself, watching the rain soak through the zombie horde. Finally, she forced a single word through her clenched jaw. “Strike!”
The thunder that answered shook the ground beneath their feet.
Thick, writhing columns of violet lightning split the sky and hammered down before the eyes of every horrified onlooker. Water made the perfect conductor, and the moment the lightning touched the earth, silver threads of raw electricity shot outward in every direction. They spread and branched and multiplied at blinding speed, the tendrils weaving together until they blazed as one continuous, searing sheet across the ground.
The air filled with a relentless, vicious snapping, the sound of electricity chewing through everything it touched. The zombies convulsed and twisted their stiff bodies in grotesque, unnatural
. A deeply unsettling smell of scorched flesh bloomed and rolled into every person’s lungs.
Then, silence followed.
Every living soul stood completely still, rooted to the spot. Some of them forgot to breathe.
None of them had ever seen anyone fight like that.
Not one of them ever imagined they’d live to see an entire zombie horde wiped out all at
once.
