Chapter 242 Familiar Face

Finishen

“I know this is your place, and I should have asked for your permission before bringing someone back. But she was really pitiful, so I arranged for her to stay outside the zoo… She’s right by the gate. I didn’t let her come in. I was planning to tell you tomorrow morning, but I didn’t expect you to still be awake.”

Hearing that Monica hadn’t brought the girl inside, Robin’s expression softened. “Alright. It’s late. Let’s get some sleep first, and we’ll talk about everything else in the morning.”

Seeing that Robin wasn’t angry, Monica finally let out a sigh of relief and quickly nodded, “Alright, Robin Goodnight!”

Robin returned to her own room, but didn’t go to sleep immediately.

Lying in bed, she raised a finger, making a dragging motion in the air.

A transparent screen appeared above her.

Monica brought a girl back with her…?

Robin fell into thought. A reconnaissance-strike drone swept across the night sky and captured the image of the girl at the zoo.

Robin noticed the girl was quite well-behaved. Since Monica hadn’t let her inside, she sat down right at the zoo entrance. Wearing only a thin jacket, she leaned against the wall and quickly fell asleep.

However, as Robin looked at the photo that the drone had captured, she frowned.

She zoomed in on the picture, studying the girl’s face carefully. For some reason, Robin felt this girl somewhere before.

It seemed like something from a long time ago. Robin wondered if it was from her previous life.

No, maybe it was before the apocalypse broke out.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through Robin’s mind.

Wait…

Isn’t this…

Erin Neel!

Erin was Eric’s granddaughter, his second son’s daughter.

That meant Erin was considered Robin’s niece.

Be it in this life or her previous life, after the apocalypse, Robin had barely seen any of the Neels. After her rebirth, Robin had met with Wade once in order to trick him into handing over the warehouse.

Other than that, she hadn’t had any other contact with the Neels.

But she never expected that the girl Monica had somehow brought back would turn out to be her adoptive

second brother’s daughter.

Robin frowned slightly. She had never particularly liked the Neels and didn’t want to have anything to do with them.

However, Erin was one of the few among the younger generation of the Neels who had ever shown her any kindness.

Now, Monica had somehow rescued Erin and brought her back here. Robin wondered if this was meant to be in some way,

Robin turned all this over in her mind, deciding to leave it alone for the night. If Erin was still there the next morning, she decided she would go see her just once, for Monica’s sake.

The night passed quickly.

Previously at Redwood Military Base, Robin hadn’t been able to sleep well. Now that she was finally back at Shangri-La, Robin had a good night’s sleep.

When she woke up the next morning, she could already hear voices from downstairs.

She quickly washed up in her room and headed downstairs, bumping into Monica.

Robin glanced at the time. It was already nine in the morning, yet Monica was still in Shangri-La. In the past, she would have already been out the door by six.

That meant that Monica had taken their talk last night to heart.

“Robin, you’re awake.”

Seeing Robin, Monica smiled shyly before a nervous expression crossed her face. “Robin…”

“I remember,” Robin said calmly.

Robin had checked the surveillance footage in her room. Erin was still outside, hugging the jacket she had in her arms, sitting there blankly after waking up.

“I…”

Monica fiddled with the corner of her shirt.

“Let’s go. We’ll go take a look.”

As she said that, Robin headed outside.

Monica froze for a second before her expression brightened and she hurried after Robin.

“Where are the two of you going so early in the morning?”
