Robin nodded to herself.
Her talent recruitment plan had gotten off to a good start.
Inside the room, Tim and Dane had already helped each other wrap their wounds.

After days of constant tension, they had finally reached a place that felt somewhat safe. The moment their guard dropped, exhaustion rushed in.
The young man lay on the bed, still unconscious. Tim and Dane sat beside it, their heads drooping as sleep slowly crept in.
Just then, Robin arrived and saw this.
She raised her hand and knocked lightly on the door.
Both men snapped awake at once. Their heads shot up, every muscle in their bodies tensed. Tim even shifted into a fighting stance, killing intent flashing in his eyes.
“This is my turf,” Robin said calmly. “Who are you planning to attack?”
The moment they heard her voice, the two men froze.
Then they looked up and were stunned.
The pair had heard Robin’s voice through the security cameras before. Tim had assumed the audio system had distorted it, making her sound younger than she really was.
But now that they saw her in person, they were shocked. The owner of this steel fortress, the woman Ella kept talking about, was so young.
This girl looked barely in her early twenties.
Still, Tim reacted quickly. He pushed down his shock and said politely, “We cannot thank you enough for your kindness in letting us stay.”
“Stop.”
Robin raised a hand and cut him off. “Skip the polite speeches,” she said flatly. “Once that kid recovers, you’ll leave right away. And while you’re staying here, understand this–nothing here is free.”
Dane opened his mouth as if he wanted to argue.

Tim quickly pressed a hand on his arm and nodded repeatedly. “Of course,” Tim said seriously. “Your kindness is something we can never repay. While we stay here, if you need anything at all, just say the word. As long as we can help, we’ll do it.”
“It’s good that you’re willing,” Robin said.
She leaned against the doorframe and lazily lifted her eyes. “But tell me something. What exactly do you think you can help me with?”
Tim fell silent.
The apocalypse had only begun a few days ago, but this place had already been turned into a steel fortress. Anyone who could build something like this in such a short time must have powerful connections, deep pockets, and serious strength.
Compared to the girl standing in front of them, they felt completely useless.
When they thought about it…
They really couldn’t offer much help.
What Tim and Dane didn’t know was that Robin had built everything on her own.
Robin looked at the two silent men and smiled faintly. “If you can’t help me with anything,” she said lightly, “then why should I keep you here? Maybe you should just pack up and leave.”
With that, she turned and started to walk away.
Dane panicked at once. “Hey! We can help!” he shouted.
“Tim is a professional bodyguard. He used to be in special forces. His combat skills and shooting were among the best in his unit. I might not be as good as Tim, but…”
He hesitated for a moment, then clenched his teeth. “After the apocalypse started, I discovered I had a strange ability.”
He raised his hand. A small ball of purple lightning appeared in his palm. Sparks crackled quietly around it. It was a lightning power.
“I admit you’re very strong,” Dane continued firmly. “But we are not useless people. And we won’t become a burden to you!”
The words hung in the air.
Robin suddenly stopped walking.
A pleased smile curved at the corner of her lips. She turned around and studied the two men
