Chapter 288 Power Awakens in Chaos

They watched as the water level in the bottle dropped several inches in just seconds. The people behind him snapped.

Hey! What are you doing? You’ve already had too much!

Give it back! How can you act like that?!

Motherfucker, you almost finished it!

They had all been careful, sticking to the ruleone sip each. But when the bottle reached the bald man, he ignored everyone behind him. He looked like he wanted to gulp down the rest in one go.

By the time they wrestled the bottle out of his hands, there was barely anything left.

The people at the back stared at the tiny amount of water. Some of them looked ready to cry.

Everyone turned on him at once, anger spilling out. That’s way out of line!

Yeah! We had a deal. How could you go back on it like that?

The bald man licked the water from his lips, looking almost dazed. His eyes were full of shock.

This water didn’t taste normal.

Man, if I had known, I would’ve drunk even faster.

Facing all the angry stares, he didn’t feel guilty at all. He spoke like he had every right.

I was too thirsty. I couldn’t help it. And come on, I only took a few extra sips. It’s not like I finished the whole thing. You’re not really going to make a big deal out of that, are you?

Of course we are!

The others were furious, close to exploding.

If this were normal times, a sip of water wouldn’t matter. No one would care.

But this wasn’t normal anymore. This was the apocalypse.

Every drop of water could save a life. And they had all agreed on the rules. Yet he broke them and drank so much at once. How could they not be mad?

The strongest man among them shot him a hard look, then turned to the others.

Forget it for now. We need to move. This place won’t hold much longer.

Hearing that, the group forced themselves to calm down. They were still angry, but they knew this wasn’t the time to fight each other.

Still, they kept glaring at the bald man, teeth clenched tight.

But he acted like he didn’t notice at all. He even said, casual as ever. This water’s kind of amazing, huh?

No one answered him.

Off to the side, Robin shook her head. A cold, mocking look flashed in her eyes.

Idiot!

He’s literally digging his own grave.

When everyone else was working together, he chose to do something that made them all hate him.

Now, he had turned himself into the one person everyone wanted gone.

After the bottle was emptied, the whole group snapped back to life. In fact, they felt even better than before.

They had been starving for a long time. Their bodies were weak and drained. But now, with the help of the Energy Booster, every part of them felt awake. Their strength surged. They felt unstoppable.

Robin watched them and raised an eyebrow.

Not bad. Looks like they’ve got some potential.

But as time went on, the zombies kept slamming into the door again and again. It couldn’t hold forever. With a loud crash, it finally gave way.

Like a dam breaking, the zombies poured in through the gap. Even though they had just managed to steady themselves, the sudden rush was still too much. They struggled to hold their ground.

Right then, someone let out a sharp shout. A baseball bat swung hard through the air, and the entire front row of zombies was sent flying.

Hey!someone shouted. Imy strength just shot up!he said, staring at his hands in shock. I only swung once. I didn’t think it would do that.

Robin smiled. Congrats. You’ve awakened a strengthtype ability.

Abilities didn’t come out of nowhere. They needed a trigger.
