Chapter 292 A Mind with No Secrets
Paul opened his mouth to Speak. But when he saw Erin watching him closely, he swallowed the excuse he had prepared. He answered honestly. “It’s not just reading minds. I can enter a person’s mind and look through their past.”
“Their past?”
That ability-
Robin frowned slightly.

Why did it feel so familiar?
Paul lifted his chin a little, sounding proud. “Yeah. I can see pieces of their past. Just fragments, but that’s enough. I can figure out a lot from them. And there’s no limit to how many times I can use it, so I can gather a lot of information very fast.”
It’s him!
A spark flashed through Robin’s mind. Now she knew why it felt familiar.
In her past life, Snoop ranked sixth on the Combat Power Leaderboard. He seemed to know everything.
He had always been mysterious. No one knew where he came from, what he looked like, or even his real
name.
But everyone who dealt with him said the same thing he was terrifying. It felt like he knew everything. A single glance from him would expose all your secrets.
He had built a massive information network all on his own. Almost every ability user’s data was in his hands. Even the Combat Power Leaderboard itself had come from him.
That alone showed how powerful he really was.
The reason he ranked sixth on the Combat Power Leaderboard wasn’t because he was insanely strong on his own.
It was because of the powerful information network in his hands.
It attracted countless top players. Many strong ability users were willing to become his tool. People came running the second he needed their service.
With the backing of so many powerful individuals, his sixth–place ranking was actually quite low–key.

Did that mean I just pick up a hidden gem?
After all, Snoop hadn’t fully grown yet. She could do everything she wanted to him.

Secrets
Thinking about it, a small smile slipped onto Robin’s lips.
Paul saw that smile and felt a chill run down his spine.
Something felt off.
I feel like I’ve just walked into a trap.
“Pal,” Robin said, patting his shoulder with a meaningful look, “as long as you work hard, I would treat you right. You’re going to achieve something great.”
Paul had no words.
He had heard lines like that before. Back before the apocalypse, bosses used to say the same thing.
Those were empty promises, plain and simple.
He forced a stiff smile. “Y–yeah, of course.”
After a short break, the group set off again, heading toward Kapitol.
Ravenholt High School.
The once lively campus was now dead silent.
There was almost no sound at all. Zombies wandered through the school, drifting from corner to corner.
Inside a classroom, beneath a window smeared with dark, dried blood near the hallway, a boy and a girl were crouched down..
“Nathan, do you think they’re gone?” the girl whispered.
She was very pretty. Even with dirt all over her face and her thin, worn–out look, you could still tell she used to be one of the most popular girls in school.
But her hair was a mess–cut short in uneven chunks, rough and jagged, like it had been hacked off in a hurry. It was obvious she had cut it herself, maybe even with a knife.
