Chapter 35 Join Us!

“Hey, bro, you’ve been quiet. Are you still mad at me? That’s fair. How about this–you guys probably don’t have a place to stay, right? If you don’t mind, just join us. From now on, you’ll be the second boss here!”

Dane’s eye twitched. Before he could even speak, Max had already decided he’d never refuse the offer. “Since you’ll be the second boss, you’ll get the same treatment as me. Whatever I have, you’ll have too. As long as you agree to stay, I’m willing to share everything with you. Of course, that includes women.”

As he spoke, he gave Jessica a meaningful look.

Jessica’s face turned pale. Her hands at her sides clenched tight, her nails digging deep into her palms.

Max felt very pleased with himself. “If you’re willing, we’ll be buddies from now on. Supplies, women–we share it all!”

Even now, he still hadn’t given up on Robin and Ella. His dirty eyes swept over them, hinting at what he wanted. “If we work together, we’ll grow stronger and take over more!”

Dane remained silent.

This guy really has a death wish.

“Ella.”

Robin leaned close to Ella’s ear and whispered a few words.

Ella looked surprised, but Robin shook her head, telling her not to ask more.

She could only swallow her questions and step forward with a smile. “Max, who gave you the confidence to be this shameless? What do you think you are?”

Max’s face darkened, and he let out a cold laugh. “What a sharp–tongued girl. For my buddy’s sake, I won’t argue with you. But no matter how pretty you are, a woman should know how to behave. Talking like that isn’t right. From now on, I’ll teach you same manners.”

Ella curled her lips into a smile.

“Really? Guess you got it wrong, Max. Why do you think the two of us would listen to him?”

As she spoke, she turned to the wall next to her–the one Max had hit earlier–and threw a punch straight at it!

Boom!

A loud crash rang out!

Everyone suddenly saw that the wall had split open with deeper and wider cracks!

And those cracks kept spreading at a steady pace. In just a few seconds, they had already reached the ceiling!

“Th–this…”

Max’s eyes widened. “What did you do…”

A bad feeling suddenly rose in his heart.

Just then, someone spoke up, confused and uneasy. “Why do I feel like the ground under my feet is shaking?”

“I feel it too…”

“Yeah…”

Robin said, like it was nothing, “Because that wall is a load–bearing wall!”

“What!?”

Before anyone could react, the whole building suddenly started shaking hard!

Broken stones and dust fell down, landing on everyone’s heads and shoulders.

Everyone turned pale with fear. Someone shouted, “Run! The building is going to collapse!”

The group that had been frozen in place scattered in an instant, rushing toward the door as fast as they could.

But after only a few steps, terrible screams came from outside.

There were zombies outside!

The ground kept shaking, and the people at the door backed away in fear, not daring to step out again.

Run, or stay?

If they went out, they’d be bitten to death by zombies. If they stayed, they’d be crushed to death here.

Either way, they would die!

At that moment, Robin suddenly saw a figure moving against the crowd, limping as she rushed upstairs.

“Jessica…”

Her eyebrows lifted, and she quickly reached out and grabbed her.

“Let go of me!”

The building was shaking hard, and her leg was injured. Jessica could barely stand, but her eyes were fixed upstairs. Without thinking, she tried hard to shake off Robin’s hand.

She tried once.
