End Times, Surviving with My Beastly Army
Chapter 97 The Superstore Gamble
Xane let out a cold snort. “Cut the nonsense. If you’re too scared to go, just say it. Stop making excuses. There’s a big supermarket in there. Weren’t you all complaining about being low on supplies?”
He waved his hand like it was obvious. “There’s enough stuff in there to last us all the way to the base. If you ask me, we don’t need to go anywhere else. Everyone, come with me. We’ll clear that place out
The group exchanged uneasy looks at his words.
They trusted Martin and Drake more. But they also knew Xane had a powerful background. That made things hard. No one wanted to offend him.
Xane got annoyed. “What are you all staring at him for? We go where I say. I’m still in charge here!”
Without waiting for an answer, he grabbed two people by the backs of their jackets and dragged them toward the commercial building.
Drake was furious. “It’s really dangerous in there.”
Xane snapped back, “Weren’t you the ones who told me to come down and find supplies? Now you’re stopping me? No way I’m going back. And if it’s dangerous, that’s what you’re here for. You can protect me.”
He acted like a shameless bully.
“Martin, this…” Drake started but couldn’t finish.
Xane was already at the entrance, pulling people with him, about to step inside.
Martin’s expression changed at once. “Watch out!”
He waved his hand. A blast of wind shot out and punched straight through a zombie’s head.
No time to hesitate. Martin rushed forward, sending out gust after gust. Each one hit its mark. Zombies dropped one after another.
More zombies started closing in. Xane’s legs went weak with fear.
“Stay right there! Don’t move!” Martin shouted.
Too late. Panicking, Xane dragged the two people and ran straight into the building without looking back.
Even if he died, he was taking someone with him.
“Shit!” Drake realized how serious it was and rushed after Martin.
He might hate Xane, but if something really happened to him today…
Luckily, there were only seven or eight zombies outside.
Martin dealt with them quickly, then ran into the building.
The moment he stepped inside, he froze.

Chapter 97 The Superstore Gamble
Finished
He had expected the place to be full of zombies. There were plenty of them. But every single one was already dead.
The floor was covered with torn bodies. Black blood and chunks of flesh were everywhere. The air smelled terrible. The whole place was a gruesome mess.
“Here…” Martin couldn’t hide the shock in his eyes.
There had to be at least a hundred zombies here. Who was strong enough to wipe them all out?
Seeing his shocking reaction, Xane let out a cold laugh. “See that? You two are useless. I wonder what kind of experts took care of all these zombies.”
There was a look of admiration in his eyes. “If people like that were protecting me, I’d already be at the base by now.”
Then he suddenly gets mad again. “And it’s all because you insisted on picking up those useless people along the way. That’s why we got delayed. If we had come here earlier, we might’ve met those experts!”
Martin ignored him. All his attention was on the zombie corpses.
Each one had different wounds. That meant they weren’t killed in a single strike. But whoever did this was precise and calm. Every move was clean and decisive. It was obvious they were well trained.
And from the marks, it clearly wasn’t just one person. In times like this, true skill showed.
Martin took a few steps forward, then suddenly stopped. “Wait.”
Did he just hear fighting up ahead?
At the side entrance of the commercial building.
Jerome’s face changed. “Robin, I think someone’s coming from behind.”
Robin narrowed her eyes and nodded. “I know. Ignore them.”
She had sensed it too.
