Ethan Storm’s Dark Awakening novel Chapter 26

Belen’s laughter echoed through the room, loud and cruel. “You really think you’re untouchable, Ethan? You’re digging your own grave.”

Ethan shook his head slowly, eyes glittering with mockery. “The Irvings don’t just fall. They crush people like you.”

Alice stayed silent, watching with a mix of defiance and calm, sensing the storm brewing.

Belen stepped closer, voice rising, “You talk a big game, but we all know how this ends. You’re finished. You’re just delaying the inevitable.”

Ethan’s lips curled in a faint, almost bored smile. “Is that supposed to scare me? I’ve seen tougher threats than you in my sleep.”

Belen clenched his fists. “Watch your mouth, or you’ll regret it.”

Ethan’s gaze didn’t flicker. “Regret? That’s your problem—thinking I have anything to lose.”

Then, just as Belen was savoring the moment, the woman he had been waiting for arrived—Sophia. His girlfriend.

She walked in confidently, her heels clicking softly on the floor. Though her position in the Irving family wasn’t high, Belen’s connection to her gave him pride and leverage. Veronica often praised him for it, and he made sure everyone knew.

Grinning smugly, Belen turned to Sophia, pointing directly at Ethan. “Soph, you won’t believe this—Ethan, this delusional guy, just said the Irving family is finished.”

Ethan didn’t even bother to look her way. His gaze stayed steady on Belen, dismissive. Sophia’s rank was too low—she had no clue about the real power shifts behind the scenes. Not even worth a glance.

Sophia’s eyes narrowed, a cold sneer cutting the room like a knife. “No one curses the Irving family and walks away from this city unscathed.”

“Sophia. The title means little. You don’t even know the real players.”

Belen scoffed. “Look at that, Soph. He won’t even dignify you with a look.”
