Chapter 323 A Dead End
She heard a noise outside the door, very light, as if someone was carefully approaching.
She became alert, reaching out to gently shake Hubert.
“Mom… Mmph!”
She covered Hubert’s mouth, made a “shushing” gesture, and pointed outside.
Hubert immediately understood and nodded.
For safety, they hadn’t even changed their clothes to sleep. They got ready as quickly as possible.
Outside the door, several thugs approached silently.

They exchanged a look, made a hand signal, and then one of them violently slammed the door open, raising his
gun.
It was empty inside.
His expression changed. “Search!”
They tore the entire room apart but found no one.
One of them noticed the window was open. He pushed it open, looked down, and saw a thin rope tied to the sill, hanging down. His face changed dramatically. “They escaped! Chase them!”
“Damn it! Does this woman have a third eye? How can she run so well!”
“We’ve been chasing for two days and haven’t found her!”
“If this keeps up, Ashton will kill us!”
“Less talk! Chase them!”
The group turned and ran out.
Only after it was completely silent did Tatiana push open the floorboard and climb out.
It turned out the room’s floor had been redone, and there was a space just big enough for two people underneath.
“Come on, Hubert.”

She lifted Hubert out, then went to get the baby.
She looked down. The baby was still fast asleep, not the least bit woken.
“He sleeps so soundly.”
“Mommy, are we leaving?”
“Mm. When they don’t find us, they’ll circle back. We leave now.”
Finished
The rope on the window was just a diversion. She knew that even if she got out, dragging two children, she could never outrun those thugs.
In the middle of the night, they were on the run again.
This time, she didn’t dare stay in a lodging. Instead, she hid with the children until the sky lightened and the streets began to fill with people.
The baby slept until dawn, then opened his big, bright eyes and started cooing.
Hubert expertly stuck the bottle Mommy had acquired into his mouth. Inside was formula mixed with cold water.
Tatiana couldn’t help but sigh. She had thought this little one wouldn’t last long. A newborn baby was too fragile and could die at any time.
She hadn’t expected him to keep living so stubbornly.
Was it his parents‘ genes?
Thinking of that vile man, her expression turned cold.
“Hubert, wait here a moment. I’m going to buy food.”
“Okay, Mommy!”
Hubert was already used to holding the baby and waiting for Mommy. He knew the drill!
Tatiana wrapped her face covering tightly and went into the street.
She immediately sensed something different.
There were many more thugs on the street, even more than yesterday.
Her heart sank.
She quickened her pace and turned to avoid them.

Finished
But she didn’t know: those men were not there to kill her.
Time rewound to the middle of the night, at Ashton’s base. All the thugs were terrified, struggling to resist-
Who the fuck could withstand this!
A full force with the world’s most advanced firearms! They were wiped out in the first exchange!
What could they possibly fight with!
Where the hell did this big shot come from? Coming to their godforsaken place!
Ashton’s face was dark. He waved his hand. “Put down your guns.”
He wasn’t a coward. If he had even a 30% chance, he’d fight to the end. But he absolutely wouldn’t fight a zero–chance battle. That was suicide!
If his armory hadn’t been blown up, how could he be this pathetic!
“A guest from afar. Are you looking for me for something?”
The crowd parted, and a man slowly walked out.
Ashton paused. A foreigner?
He had an inexplicably bad feeling.
Jasper approached step by step, his stern eyes icy, without a trace of warmth. The first time Ashton saw him, he knew this man was bad news.
“Something…”
The next word hadn’t left his mouth before a fist slammed into his face, knocking him down.
“Fuck!”
Ashton immediately counter–attacked.
As the number one fighter, he rarely had to make a move. In pure hand–to–hand combat, no one could beat him.
He was confident this time, too.
