“Tatiana, I’ve found Ann’s boat! I’m preparing to board it by force now. I’ll bring Ann back as soon as possible. Wait for me on the ship.”

When he received no response, Jasper realized something had happened. He tried to contact the men he had assigned to that ship. No response.

He didn’t give up, sending signals one by one. Finally, someone answered the radio.

A weak, unsteady voice came from the other end.

“Boss… Sixteen… and, Seventeen… are… are impostors… All… hands… lost… Ms. Tati… has been… taken… Failed to complete the mission… Willingly… accept…”

Before he could say “punishment,” his breathing stopped.

Jasper nearly crushed the radio, his face ashen, but he couldn’t rush back immediately.
