Chapter 332 One Life for Another
“You’re the one who kidnapped Ann.”
His gaze was savage, as if he could shoot her dead at any moment.

Madam White smiled faintly. “Are you the child’s father? I underestimated
the child’s father? I underestimated you. I didn’t expect you to actually be able to stop me. But unfortunately, I can’t give her back to you.”
“You don’t have a choice.”
“Is that so? How about you look at this.”
Madam White took out her phone and tapped it. A live video feed appeared on the screen, showing a familiar person.
Jasper’s pupils shrank. “Tatiana!”
Ann saw it too, shouting, “Mommy!”
On the screen, Tatiana was being threatened with a gun by the man disguised as an agent.
She was on a speedboat, her face pale. She looked at the phone her captor held up, and Jasper’s face appeared.
“Jasper!”
She moved, and the gun at her forehead pressed harder. “Don’t move. Bullets don’t have eyes.”
“Did you find Ann? Where is she? Ann!”
Madam White was merciful enough to turn the camera toward the child.
Ann, who had been unresponsive since her capture, was now gripping the bars, her big eyes shining with tears. She shouted in a fierce, childish voice, “Let my mommy go!!”
Jasper’s hand on the gun tightened, veins bulging on its back. He used every last scrap of his rationality to suppress his violent rage. “What do
you want.”
Madam White didn’t waste time and said directly, “It’s simple. A life for a life. You are parents, so you naturally know what it’s like to cherish your child. My daughter is critically ill and needs an immediate heart transplant, and your daughter just happens to be a suitable match.”
Tatiana instantly understood. She struggled desperately. “No! You can’t!!”
Madam White finished in a near–cruel tone, “A heart needs to be transplanted from a living

person. As long as she takes this pill and the surgery is completed, I will let your wife go. Otherwise, I will take you all down with me, and we’ll be buried at sea!”

As she spoke, the doctor behind her took out a bottle of medicine, walked over slowly, and placed it outside the iron cage, just within Ann’s reach.
Tatiana looked terrified, shaking her head frantically. “No! You can’t! Jasper! Save Ann!”
Jasper was silent, his eyes terrifyingly red, the hand holding the gun trembling.
He was forced into an impossible choice.
Madam White was gambling, and the stake was her daughter’s life. She would not lose, even if it meant her own death!
“Well? Have you made your choice? You are still young, you can have more children. I only have this one daughter in my life! As long as the surgery is done and we leave safely, I guarantee, she will live. A life for a life. A good deal, right?”
Tatiana roared like she was mad, “Jasper! Save Ann! You must save Ann! It doesn’t matter what happens to me!”
How could it not matter?
She was more important to him than anyone. Above all else, second to none.
He hesitated, his heart in agonizing pain as if it were being crushed. He had never felt such despair.
“You… are… seeking… death!”
Of course, Madam White knew how terrifying the man before her was, how powerful his reach. To be able to mobilize such a large number of warships on short notice… this was definitely no ordinary person.
Provoking him probably meant being hunted for the rest of her life.
But so what? For her daughter, she feared no one.
“I don’t have much time. Have
you made
your choice?”
Tatiana was on the verge of frenzy, but she was held firmly by the thug, unable to move. Her voice was terribly hoarse. “Ann! Don’t take it! Ann!”
Just then, Ann, who had been silent, had already reached out her small hand and picked up the pill bottle from the ground.

The bottle was transparent glass, containing two blue pills.
Jasper subconsciously stepped forward. “Ann, don’t!”
A muffled grunt immediately came from Tatiana on the screen.
She had been punched in the stomach.
Madam White reminded him, “Don’t move, or it won’t go well for your wife.”

Ann held the bottle and raised her head, revealing her large, dark eyes, which held a maturity and understanding beyond her years. She asked, “If I take this, will you let my mommy go?”
Madam White nodded. “Yes. After you take it, you’ll go to sleep. It won’t hurt.”
She would enter a state of suspended animation, preserving the heart as much as possible for transplantation.
If possible, Madam White wouldn’t want to perform the surgery on a boat–the risk was too high. But Yorian couldn’t wait any longer!
“Okay. Then you have to keep your promise.”
“Of course. I keep my word.”
Ann looked at the screen. A bright smile slowly appeared on her small face. Her childish, tender voice was filled with deep longing and attachment.
“Mommy, I miss you so much. I’m sorry for making you worry again. Is Hubert okay? Did he cry? Is he still mad at me for leaving him? I miss Hubert too. He is good, and Mommy is good too. I want you all to be well, that makes me happy. Mommy, I know you’ve been very tired and had a hard time these past few years. My illness… has always been a big burden on you. I know. I’m sorry.”
Tears fell from her eyes, landing on the pill bottle in her hand.
