Chapter 361 A Madman’s Fortune

With Alita’s bronzed skin and the sleek lines of muscle on her forearms, her new look wasn just a head–turner for men–it commanded the admiration of women as well.
Tatiana reached out, enviously brushing her fingers against Alita’s firm arm. “You look incredible.”
Alita leaned in with a playful grin. “Do you like it?”
“I love it.”
It was the kind of physique Tatiana knew she could never achieve. Their genetics were simp different; Alita had a natural, primal advantage.
“Why didn’t you pick something out for yourself?” Alita asked. “And you’re still wearing that mask. Doesn’t it get stuffy?”
“Not at all. I just don’t particularly care for the air here.”
Tatiana rarely revealed her true face, preferring to keep herself strictly under wraps.
Once they finished their shopping spree, the two returned to their base, thoroughly satisfied. Alita’s transformation left their comrades staring in awe; several were ready to start a pursuit then and there. However, given Tatiana’s high standing and the fact that Alita was her most trusted confidante, no one dared to cross the line.
As night fell, the auction house was ablaze with light, surrounded by a sea of luxury cars.
Originally, this was meant to be a minor event with a small guest list. However, word had leak that rare treasures would be appearing, drawing in a crowd of heavy hitters.
Norman waited for Jasper and gave him a quick rundown of the afternoon’s events. “They’re the sellers,” he noted. “They brought in some serious items and are currently the auction house’s VIP guests. If you’re planning to make a move, you’d better keep it discreet.”
Jasper’s tone remained flat. “What kind of move are you implying?”
“Stop playing coy. We’re both men–I know exactly what you’re thinking. Though, I have to say that fiery woman next to her isn’t half bad either.”
Norman hadn’t missed the moment Alita stepped out in her new clothes earlier that day. To be honest, it had left him more than a little stirred. He had seen far too many prim socialites and had zero interest in them, but a woman radiating such untamed, wild beauty was captivating. He found himself wanting to see where that might lead.

Jasper let out a cold snort. “Is your head filled with nothing but filth?”

With that, Jasper turned and walked into the venue. Norman nearly snapped back. “Oh, get over yourself!”
The hall was decadently decorated with individual, private seating. Many guests were already huddled in low–voiced discussions about the night’s catalog.
When Jasper and Norman entered, many eyes turned toward them. While they might not have recognized Jasper, everyone knew Norman. The Cole family held a status in Murica that rivaled even Madam Lindsey’s. After the head of the family died in a suspicious accident, Norman- the eldest son who had been exiled to Antarctica–had been recalled to stabilize the situation. For all intents and purposes, Norman was now the undisputed head of the family.
Seeing Norman treat this stranger with such respect, the guests began to speculate on Jasper’s identity.
“Damn, where did they get these?” Norman muttered, handing a catalog to Jasper.
The final page was a last–minute insert, featuring the raw jadeite stones. Even to an expert, these were rare masterpieces. More importantly, they were uncarved, making them perfect for custom commissions.
Jasper studied the catalog for a long time, his eyes dark and un readable.
Norman, bored, leaned back. “I bet a bunch of idiots are going to get into a bidding war over these.”
He was proven wrong almost instantly. The man sitting right next to him raised a hand and called out a staggering figure-
“One hundred million.”
The room erupted into a roar of shock. Norman whipped his head around. “Are you insane?”
Jasper’s expression didn’t flicker. Because the opening bid was so aggressively high, the room fell into a stunned silence. Finally, a white man raised his paddle. “One hundred and ten million. Come on, friend, let me have this one for my wife?”
