Tatiana was ushered through the VIP entrance, spared from the chaos of the massive crowds lining up outside the stadium.
Behind a pair of dark sunglasses and a clinical mask, she sat in the prime viewing area closest to the stage, flanked by a wall of stone–faced bodyguards. The concert hadn’t started yet, but the sprawling, high–tech stage was already set, casting a cold, metallic glow over the front rows.
She shifted in her seat, feeling restless. Eventually, she stood up and wandered toward the backstage area, hoping to try her luck at getting William’s autograph. Since she held a top–tier VIP pass, the staff assumed she belonged to a high–profile sponsor and didn’t stop her.
The backstage was a hive of frantic activity. She moved through the corridors unnoticed until a harried staff member accidentally collided with her.
Her bodyguard immediately stepped in. “Madam, are you alright?”
“I’m fine. Let’s head back.”
She sat back in her seat, her expression composed. Under the cover of the dim lighting, she slowly opened her palm. Resting there was a crumpled ball of paper–pressed into her hand by the person who had just “tripped” into her.
She smoothed it out and read the scribbled lines:
Everything is fake. Don’t believe them! Meet me in Dressing Room 8 after the show. You will find the truth.
Several words were misspelled, and she had to rely on her intuition to piece the message together. Logically, she told herself it was a prank, a trap. But a quiet, persistent voice in the back of her mind whispered: Go.
Her focus wavered as the lights dimmed. It wasn’t until the spotlight hit the center of the stage that her attention was finally snatched back by William’s presence.
The concert was electric. Wave after wave of sound crashed over the audience, thousands of hands moving in rhythm with the beat. Even Tatiana found herself swept up in the energy, standing and humming along.
After several high–octane tracks, the show transitioned into an interactive segment where William would select a fan to join him on stage. Every arm in the stadium shot up, fans desperate for a moment with their idol.
William’s gaze swept across the crowd, landing on the small, heavily disguised figure in the VIP section. Intrigued, he pointed directly at her. “Second row, in the black. Yes, you! Come on, get up here.”

Tatiana looked left and right, confirming no one else was wearing black before realizing he meant her.
She was nervous, but the raw courage of her seventeen–year–old self won out. She walked onto the stage with a steady step.
William teased her immediately. “You’re more covered up than I was at the airport. You must be roasting in that, aren’t you?”
The crowd erupted in laughter.
William was a natural talker, quickly pivoting to a more personal topic. “Who do you admire most? Well, since you’re here, obviously me. But can you guess who I admire most?”
Tatiana shook her head.
William offered a wistful smile, a look of deep nostalgia crossing his face. “The person I admired most is no longer with us. She passed away years ago, and I miss her every day. My biggest wish was that she could have written one more song for me.”
The stadium fell into a hush; it was the first time William had shared this part of his life so openly.
“She didn’t write many songs, but every one of them is etched into my soul. Today is her birthday, and I miss her more than ever. I want to sing a song in her memory. Would you sing it with me?”
Tatiana nodded.
William signaled for a second microphone. He didn’t expect much from a random fan; he simply wanted a companion for this tribute.
The moment the music started, Tatiana felt a jolt like a physical electric shock. The song William had chosen was a masterpiece by the late, legendary Yvonne. Yvonne had died young, before her fame could truly peak, and as the years passed, most of the younger generation had never even heard her name.
But the melody was haunting, and the audience was instantly captivated.
William began to sing, his voice rich and deep, perfectly suited for the melancholic track. The frenzied energy of the stadium cooled into a spellbound silence.
Then, a clear, crystalline female voice joined in.
William looked over in shock. It was the girl. He intentionally stopped singing his own part, handing the stage over to her completely.
