Rose looked at her instinctively. “Isn’t this the one from the other night…?”
Tatiana took a deep breath. “Send it all back.”
The subordinate looked conflicted. “Where do we send it? We couldn’t find anyone.”
Finished
This was a problem. She didn’t even know Jasper was in Bellwood, let alone where he was staying. These items were priceless; it wouldn’t be right to simply leave them unattended. Ultimately, forced by circumstance, she had them moved into the house temporarily.
“There’s a letter here!”
Tammy’s sharp eyes caught a glimpse of an envelope tucked inside, and she handed it to Tatiana. This time, the letter was addressed to her.
She unfolded it.
“I’m sorry. Please don’t throw them away. Keep them, alright?”
The simple words carried a trace of supplication, as if he had anticipated her desire to reject them. She folded the stationery and ordered the staff to store the gifts away for the moment.
Lindsey approached, her voice laced with concern. “Tatiana, did he send these?”
Everyone knew exactly who “he” was.
“Yes.”
Lindsey’s expression soured instantly. “I don’t want them. Tell him to take them back.”
However, it was clear that Lindsey actually loved the collection; every piece was something she personally cherished. Had it been from anyone else, she would have accepted with a smile. But the Jackson family boy was the exception!
He was the reason Tatiana had suffered so much. He was the reason her daughter had lost her life. The blood feud between them was something Lindsey could never set aside.
Understanding this, Tatiana soothed her. “Grandma, I’ll calculate the value and pay him for them. We’ll consider them a gift from me to you.”
Lindsey reluctantly agreed, though she added a firm warning: “Make sure you pay him. We cannot owe that man anything.”
“I will.”
The interlude passed, and the banquet continued. Lindsey enjoyed a wonderful day, and her spirits were noticeably lifted.
As Rose prepared to leave with her son, she hesitated before speaking. “I heard recently that a very powerful figure has arrived in Bellwood. The Lund family is currently scrambling to curry favor with him.”

She left it at that.
Tatiana understood. “Don’t worry about it.”
“Alright. I’m heading home. Call me if you need anything?
Finished
Rose drove home with her son, her mind racing. Who exactly was Tatiana’s mysterious “husband“? He was clearly no ordinary man. Rose had a sharp eye for value; she had recognized several items in that crate that weren’t even from the auction–they were cultural relics usually seen only in overseas exhibitions. They were priceless and nearly impossible to acquire.
“Mommy!”
“Hmm?” Rose snapped back to reality and looked at her son.
“Can I keep playing with Ann and Hubert from now on?”
“Of course you can.”
Morten was delighted, chattering away in the car about their day. Like Ann, little Morten was on the autism spectrum. His symptoms weren’t severe, but he was quiet and preferred playing alone. Rose had encouraged him to go to Sunny Estate specifically because she worried he would never have friends. She was relieved to see that since visiting. Morten had become more talkative and lively.
Soon, the car reached their villa halfway up the mountain. As she carried her son out, she immediately realized something was different. A car she hadn’t seen in a long time was parked in the driveway.
The smile on her face froze instantly.
In contrast, little Morten let out a cry of delight. He squirmed out of his mother’s arms and ran inside. shouting happily, “Daddy!”
A handsome man wearing gold–rimmed glasses and a black suit walked out slowly, catching Morten in his
arms.
“Daddy! When did you get back?”
“Just now. While I was away, were you a good boy for your mother?”
“Yes! I’ve been very good!”
The man smiled and looked up. Rose walked into the house, her expression carefully neutral. “You’re back. Are you staying for dinner?”
“Yes. I’ll be home for three days.”
Morten’s eyes lit up at the news. “That’s great! Daddy! I want to build models with you!”
“Alright.”
Compared to Morten’s excitement, Rose was visibly uncomfortable. There was a flicker of genuine fear in the depths of her eyes.
Three days… She felt like she might not survive it.
