His expression shifted instantly. In three long strides, Norman Junged forward, seized the man by the collar, and hauled him up before delivering a brutal punch to the face..
“What the fuck do you think you’re looking at? You have a death wish? You dare look at my woman?”
His strikes were vicious. After only two punches, the sleazy man was already howling for mercy.
“I didn’t see anything! Please, spare me!”
Inside the bathroom, Tammy had just finished dressing. Hearing the commotion, she rushed out the door.
“What’s happening?”
“This bastard was peeping on you!”
“What? You’re dead!”
In one fluid motion, she closed the distance and delivered a flying kick. The man’s eyes widened as he tried to dodge, but he was too slow. He was knocked out cold instantly.
The residents of the entire floor had come out to watch, and the scene left them speechless. Not a single person stepped in to help the man; in fact, they looked like they wanted to cheer.
The leering man was the father of the motel owner. His favorite pastime was spying on female guests, many of whom had suffered his voyeurism in silence because the rent was the cheapest in the city. They couldn’t afford to leave, so they simply endured it. To see someone finally teach him a lesson was deeply satisfying.
The young couple from before watched with lingering fear. The boyfriend, in particular, was immensely grateful he hadn’t done anything stupid earlier, or he’d be the one on the floor.
“Wow, he’s so cool! And his girlfriend is even cooler! That flying kick–god, it looked like something out of an action movie!”
The girl had forgotten about admiring the handsome man; she was now completely captivated by Tammy. With their looks and their skills, they were like a modern–day Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Unfortunately, the price for their righteous violence was immediate eviction. They were back on the streets.
Norman looked troubled. “I’m sorry. I got you kicked out.”

“Don’t be ridiculous. You did what you had to do. How could I stand by and watch you be disrespected? But…”
She thought back to her own kick. In all honesty, that wasn’t the move of an ordinary person. The two of them shared a look, seeing the same realization in each other’s eyes.
They spoke at the same time: “You-”
“You go first,” Norman said.
Tammy hesitated before saying, “I don’t think we’re normal people. I… I seem to be very good at fighting.”
Even with amnesia, the body doesn’t forget. Those instincts, etched into the very marrow of her bones, were triggered the moment a threat appeared.
“Cough… to be honest, I feel the same way.”
They grew more curious about their true identities. But for now, the priority was finding a place to sleep. The money Norman had earned from unloading cargo had been spent on supplies; he didn’t have a cent left. And there was no rent cheaper than the place they’d just left.
“Follow me.”
He thought of a place and led Tammy toward it. Trusting him, she followed without question.
Shortly after they vanished into the night, several high–end cars screeched to a halt in front of the motel. Tatiana and Jasper stepped out and hurried inside. Their striking appearance and commanding presence immediately alarmed the owner, who hurried forward to fawningly greet them.
“How can I help you, distinguished guests?”
“We’re looking for someone.” Jasper wasted no time, pulling out a photograph. “Have you seen them?”
The owner’s heart skipped a beat. Just missed them.
Seeing the shift in the man’s expression, Tatiana narrowed her eyes. “Surround the building. Search it.”
Pale with fright, the owner didn’t dare lie. “They’re gone! They just left!”
“Gone?”
“Yes, yes! I swear! They really left!”

The search team confirmed the rooms were empty. To make matters worse, the owner had never bothered to fix the surveillance cameras to save money, so there was no footage of their departure.
Tatiana’s brow furrowed. “Which way did they go?”
“I… I don’t know. I didn’t see them. They have legs; I can’t control where they walk.”
Someone nearby couldn’t take it anymore and spoke up. “They didn’t just walk out; you kicked them out! You did something shameful and now you’re lying about it!”
It was the girl from the young couple. Flushed with indignation and ignoring her boyfriend’s attempts to quiet her, she told Tatiana the whole story. After all, that old man had peeped on her too, and her cowardly boyfriend had told her to just let it go. She had been holding that grudge for a long time.
“Stop talking!” her boyfriend hissed.
“No! They were wrong!”
Tatiana understood now, a mocking glint in her eyes. “You have quite the nerve. You’re lucky to be alive.”
Between Norman and Tammy, both were notoriously lethal. This man had no idea how close he had come to a permanent end. But the real problem remained: if the two of them were clearly capable of defending themselves, why hadn’t they returned? Why hadn’t they contacted anyone? Why were they living in a place like this?
Something was being overlooked.
“Do you have the guest registry?”
There was one, but the names were clearly fake, scrawled without care. No one checked IDs here.
No IDs required…
Either they couldn’t risk exposing their identities, or they didn’t remember them. Tatiana turned to Jasper with a bitter smile. “I think my earlier guess might actually be the truth.”
