Chapter 503 The Star on the Schedule
Lucas suppressed the bitterness in his chest. He wanted to explain himself, but he realized there was nothing to say.
He had been a total bastard.
He used Tammy to get close to Tatiana so he could finish the job Jasper gave him. Later, he used her skills to keep himself safe. He knew exactly how she felt about him the entire time, but he played dumb and kept using her.
He was not a good person.
Now that he finally accepted that, he stopped making excuses. He looked Tammy in the eye and spoke slowly. “I am sorry. I did some terrible things in the past. I will make it right. I will do whatever it takes to make you happy.”
Tammy curled her lip. “I do not remember any of that.”
‘You will eventually.”
That is a problem for future me.”
Lucas felt a wave of frustration when he realized she did not seem to care about her past at all. He was not ready to give up. He could not just let her walk away.
He searched for any reason to make her stay. A thought flashed through his mind. “Wait. You can forget ne, but can you really forget her?”
Who?”
Tatiana.”
The moment he said the name, it felt like a needle stabbed into Tammy’s brain. It was a sharp, numbing >ain, like something was fighting to break through the surface.
Lucas saw her expression change and pushed harder. “She has been looking for you. She is worried sick. You respected her so much. How can you let her suffer like that?”
It was more than respect. It went beyond her own life. Tammy’s devotion to Tatiana was stronger than anything else. She used to say she loved Lucas, but if he were ever put on a scale against Tatiana, Tammy wouldn’t hesitate for a second to let him die if it meant saving her.
That was why he never believed her feelings back then. It felt like a joke to hear someone say they love you while someone else matters more.
“Tatiana…”
Tammy whispered the name. Her heart fluttered with a strange intensity. It was an overwhelming feeling, a sudden, desperate urge to see this person right now.
“Where is she?”

“Who? Tatiana?”
“Yes.”
“You want to see her, don’t you?”
Tammy nodded hard.
Lucas breathed a sigh of relief. He felt a bit jealous, but at least she was willing to engage now. “Hang on. I
will call her.”
But the call would not go through. Lucas tried several times, but he could not reach her. Tammy’s face darkened with every failed attempt.
“You are lying to me!”
“I am not. She is probably just busy.”
“She happens to be busy right this second?”
Lucas could not explain that a guy like him had no right to demand Tatiana’s time. If she did not want to pick up, he just had to deal with it.
“Tammy, if you were the one calling, she would answer. She cares about you as much as you care about her.”
Tammy opened her mouth to argue, but she found herself unable to say a word. Her instincts told her he was right.
Lucas stood up and walked over to her. “You will find out who you are. I will be waiting for you.”
Tammy walked home in a daze.
She kept repeating the name Tatiana under her breath. Her chest felt tight, like she had forgotten something vital. She was so preoccupied with the name that she almost forgot her husband might be cheating.
It was not until she got back and saw him that the memory came rushing back. Her face changed instantly.
The shift was so obvious that Norman stopped in his tracks as he moved to greet her. “What is wrong? Who upset my Flowic?”
Tammy did not say a word. She walked straight past him, ignoring him completely.
“Flowie?”
He called out to her, but she did not respond. Norman realized something was seriously wrong. He chased after her and tried to grab her arm, but she dodged him.
She looked up and met his gaze with cold eyes. The warmth and affection were gone.
He frowned and stepped closer. “What happened? Are you mad at me?”

Tammy’s gaze was sharp. “Did you win your match this afternoon?”
“Of course. I got a nice bonus, too. I want to take you to that new restaurant tonight. The food is supposed to be great.
“How do you know the food is good? Have you been there already?”
For once, Norman was at a loss for words.
“Who did you go with?”
“Nobody. Someone just told me about it. What are you thinking? Who else would I go to dinner with besides you?”
He reached out to poke her forehead playfully. “If I ever went out with someone else, you would probably tear me apart, right?”
“But I saw you this afternoon.”
The smile on Norman’s face froze for a split second, but he quickly replaced it with a look of confusion.
You saw me? When?”
“Three o’clock. On 3rd Avenue. I saw you, but I could not catch up. Where were you going?”
I was not there. I was at the gym for my match. You must have seen someone else.”
Tammy snapped back immediately. “No! I would never mistake you for someone else!”
I was definitely at the gym. If you do not believe me, look.”
He pulled out his phone and tapped the screen. He showed her the tournament schedule. His name was there next to his opponent’s. There was a little star next to his name, marking him as the winner.
