Chapter 539 Too Good to Be True
Raphael was completely floored.
“What? Her own money?”
Finished
“Yeah, Jasper said. “To be honest, I’m actually worried I won’t be able to afford her. Or that she’ll end up supporting me.”
Jasper wasn’t joking. Raphael realized the guy was dead serious. He had no reason to lie about something
like that.
While Raphael was still trying to wrap his head around it, Tatiana closed the deal on the mining claim for 8.8 billion dollars. The number matched their bidder paddle exactly.
She was in a great mood. This vein was worth way more than eight billion. Even at double that price, it was a steal. She hadn’t planned on bidding, but the price was too low to ignore. As for the little problem Raphael mentioned? It wasn’t even an issue.
“Congratulations to the lady at number eighty–eight!” the auctioneer shouted.
By now, everyone in the room realized the woman at Jasper’s side was a powerhouse. It made sense why Jasper had gone public with her so fast.
Raphael looked like he’d been hit by a truck as he reached out to shake Jasper’s hand. “Congratulations,
man.”
Jasper shook it. “Thanks.”
Raphael was genuinely jealous. Where did someone find a woman this beautiful and this capable? The way she took over the room during the bidding was terrifyingly attractive.
“I really envy you.”
“Yeah,” Jasper said. “You should.”
“Hey! Don’t rub it in.”
Jasper laughed and looked over at Tatiana. He couldn’t hide the look in his eyes.
As they left the hall, the auction house records updated. They had just set a new total sales record for a single session. It was a record that wouldn’t be touched for a very long time.
Having secured exactly what she wanted, Tatiana felt the lingering stress from the poacher encounter finally vanish. More importantly, the weight that had been sitting on her chest for years finally lifted.
She looked at the man walking beside her and laughed. “You’re grinning like an idiot. It’s embarrassing.
Jasper leaned down and kissed her. “I have you to thank for that.”
She arched an eyebrow. “What if I take it back?”

Chapter 539 Too Good to Be True
“I won’t give you the chance.”
“It’s just a relationship, Jasper. Not a marriage.”
Finished
“I’ll work on that,” he said, his voice turning cold and serious. “Until you’re willing to marry me a second time.”
Tatiana tossed back a casual reply. “We’ll see how you perform.”
When Ann and Hubert saw the gifts, they were thrilled. But they were even more excited by the way their parents were looking at each other. The kids exchanged a look and giggled behind their hands. They didn’t say a word, but they knew exactly what was happening.
Tatiana knocked their heads together lightly. “Bedtime. No staying up late. Got it?”
“Got it!” they chirped.
Before heading into his room, Hubert leaned in and whispered to his mother. “Mommy, did you finally forgive Daddy?”
Tatiana didn’t deny it. “Go to sleep.”
Hubert beamed and rushed to catch up with Ann, whispering the news. They practically skipped into their
room.
Tatiana laughed at them and leaned back. She bumped right into Jasper’s chest. He put his hands on her waist and leaned down, his breath warm against her skin.
“They see everything.”
Tatiana shrugged. “They have an IQ of 160. Of course they do.”
He brushed against her affectionately. “It’s late. We should get some rest too.”
“You’re right. I’m exhausted.”
She straightened up and headed for her own room. Jasper followed her like he was on a leash. He didn’t even hesitate.
The door shut right in his face. He walked straight into it.
His nose throbbed. He stood there looking like a kicked puppy. From inside the room, he heard Tatiana laughing. “Get some sleep, Jasper.”
Jasper rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Tatiana, you’re cruel.”
Her laughter got louder. “Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
