Chapter 552 The Rabid Pack
The mine in Westland had a buyer, and it was none other than Tatiana.

Norman figured they had likely headed there, so he didn’t waste a second. He hopped on the next flight
Cout.
“Tammy, wait for me.”
“What the hell is going on? Why won’t those people just pack up and leave? They’re stubborn bastards!”
“If this keeps up, our cash flow from the paper towels won’t be enough to recover.”
“This mine absolutely cannot fall into anyone else’s hands!”
“That damn Hindersville rat! They never should have shown up!”
A group of men argued loudly, their voices overlapping in a chaotic mess.
Finally, the man in the head seat spoke up. “Quiet.”
Everyone shut their mouths and looked toward him.
“We’re running out of time. We have to find a way to make them give up on that mine.”
“Sir, I have an idea.”
“Speak.”
“If the gorillas aren’t enough, then let’s bring in something more dangerous. Scarcely anything scares people off faster than that.”
The man, the chairman of the association, had a sharp glint in his eyes. “Try it.”
Tatiana was resting when she was jolted awake by a frantic pounding on her door.
She opened her eyes, rolled out of bed, and swung the door open.
“Tati! Get out, now!”
It was Tammy.
She looked panicked as she grabbed Tatiana’s hand. “Something is wrong! There’s danger!”
Tatiana’s expression went cold. “What kind of danger?”
Tammy shook her head. “I don’t know, but there are no birds chirping outside. It’s too quiet. This place shouldn’t be this silent. Something big is coming.”

Tatiana trusted Tammy implicitly. Without a second thought, she woke everyone up.
The newly built camp housed over a hundred miners. Within five minutes, they were all gathered in the learing.
asper held Ann and Hubert, standing right behind Tatiana.
Cavier looked half–asleep. “What’s going on?”
Tammy says there’s danger. We’re evacuating.”
t took them only ten minutes to get everyone out. Three buses hauled the miners away while Tatiana and he others piled into an SUV.
Not long after they left, a pack of wolves slipped into the camp. Their expressions were distorted, teeth ared, and thick saliva dripped from their muzzles. They were clearly not normal.
They began to tear apart everything in sight. Supplies, tents, and even each other.
Watching the scene through the security monitors from a safe distance, Tatiana felt a chill run down her pine.
Hubert and Ann huddled in Jasper’s arms, peeking through the gaps
in their fingers.
Xavier sucked in a sharp breath. “They’re attacking everything that moves… indiscriminately. Other nimals, humans, it doesn’t matter. They’re hyper–aggressive and don’t even seem to feel pain. Look at the drool… they can’t swallow. Their howls sound hoarse, like their vocal cords are seizing up.”
Hubert couldn’t help but ask, “Uncle Xavier, what does that mean? Are the wolves sick?”
Kavier nodded, his face grim. “It’s rabies. These wolves are in the manic stage of the disease. They’re ncredibly dangerous. They carry the virus, and it’s extremely contagious.”
Everyone felt a wave of cold dread. If they hadn’t escaped in time, they would have been mauled or nfected. In a place this underdeveloped, getting enough rabies vaccines for everyone would have been nearly impossible.
Tatiana stared at the screen for a moment. “Does a rabid wolf still have a brain in that manic state?”
Xavier shook his head. “They can’t tell friend from foe anymore.”
Tatiana rewound the footage to the moment the pack arrived and paused it. “Then would they naturally have the discipline to flank the front and back gates to block all the exits?”
Xavier froze, his pupils shrinking.
Tammy, who had been silent, finally spoke. “There is no Alpha in that pack.”
Xavier instinctively started to disagree. “There has to be an Alpha. Without one, who gives the orders?”
Tammy pointed out something else. “The gorillas didn’t have a leader either. I watched them for a long time. There wasn’t a single silverback. This wolf pack is the same.”
