Chapter 592 The Downfall

Jasper watched the black sedans parked in the street below his window

They belonged to the investigation team.

The skyscraper he had built with his own hands was finally beginning to shake at as foundation

He dismissed his counsel with a slight wave of his hand. “That’s all. You can go now?

“Yes, Mr. Jasper.”

The lawyer had barely cleared the room before the investigators arrived. They pushed the door open official documents in hand.

“We need you to come with us.”

Jasper didn’t resist. He stood up calmly and shut down his laptop.

This wasn’t his first time cooperating with an inquiry.

But it was, without a doubt, the most dangerous.

A few paparazzi had already caught wind of the situation and were camping out at the entrance of jackwom Corp, waiting for a career-defining scoop. Fortunately, the investigators led him out through a back ext avoiding the media circus entirely.

Across town, Tatiana was having dinner with Anna.

It had been over a year since they’d seen each other. Anna was now a powerhouse talent agent of top-tier idols and a booming career.

When they reunited, Anna was visibly buzzing with excitement.

“I honestly thought you were never coming back from Bellwood!”

They had kept in touch, but seeing each other in person was different.

“Well, I’m here now, aren’t I?”

“You’re here, alright. And you brought enough explosive news to level the city. Anna teased

Thinking about the hundred million dollars Tatiana had just donated, Anna’s heart skipped hundred million! That was more than she’d make in a lifetime, and Tatiana had just grues was pocket change.

“This is for you. A little homecoming gift”

Tatiana pushed a small, elegant box across the table.

Anna opened it and gasped. “Are you serious? This is way too much.”

The necklace inside was bright enough to be blinding.

“Wait, did you do something terrible to me? Is this hush money?”

“If you don’t like it, give it back.”

“No way! My conscience wouldn’t let me turn this down!”

Tatiana couldn’t help but laugh.

Fickhed

Anna tucked the box away safely, her expression turning serious. “Since I’m taking such a big gift, I have to give you a heads-up on something.”

Tatiana looked up, waiting.

Anna glanced around the restaurant, leaned in, and lowered her voice. “Stay away from the Jackson family. Something massive is happening. There will be news in the next day or two.”

Tatiana’s face went pale. “Are you sure?”

“Seventy percent. Just trust me on this. Don’t do anything impulsive.”

Anna knew about her history with Jasper and was terrified she’d do something stupid.

“Do you have any specifics?”

Anna shook her head. “It’s high-level classified. The public has no idea yet. I only found out through a lucky break, which is why I called you today.”

Tatiana understood. Even a vague warning was a stroke of luck.

As she was about to speak, a shadow fell over the table. She looked up instinctively.

“What a coincidence,” Liam said.

“Mr. Liam.”

This time, Tatiana hadn’t planned the encounter at all.

Liam seemed to have genuinely just spotted her. He gave a polite nod, said hello, and moved on.

The moment he was gone, Anna gave Tatiana a suggestive look.

“You know Liam?”

“You know him too?” Tatiana countered.

“Of course I do. He’s Sherry Parker’s ex-husband.”

“What?”

Finished

“Everyone in the industry knows that.”

Anna immediately dove into the gossip.

Sherry Parker was a household name, a three-time Best Actress winner and a true screen legend. She and Liam had been college sweethearts and were married for three years before their recent divorce.

The official story was that Sherry was too busy with her career and the marriage ended amicably.

Anna scoffed. “Busy? Please. She was cheating. She’s a legendary actress, sure, but the industry moves fast. At her age, she’s being offered roles as the main character’s mother. She wasn’t getting the scripts she wanted and she couldn’t stand the idea of being a housewife, so she slept with a director to get a role. The paparazzi caught them, but the Langstroms paid a fortune to bury the photos. Obviously, there was no way she was staying a Langstrom wife after that. Personally, I think she’s an idiot. A man like Liam is a once-in-a-lifetime catch. If they hadn’t been classmates, she never would have had the status to marry into that family anyway. She’s going to regret that move for the rest of her life.”

After finishing the story, Anna asked, “So, how do you two know each other?”

Tatiana briefly explained the encounter at the stables.

“Maybe he’s interested in you,” Anna teased.

Tatiana didn’t smile. “I’m not interested in him.”

I’m interested in his father.

But the Langstrom family was notoriously hard to reach.

Maybe she could use Liam as an entry point after all? She turned the thought over in her mind.

Meanwhile, inside one of the restaurant’s private rooms, a group of well-connected young men were waiting. When Liam walked back in, they looked at him curiously.

“Liam, where’d you go?”

“I saw him talking to someone outside,” another added. “Who was it? Must be someone special for you to go out of your way.”
