Chapter 689 Tammy’s Heart-wrenching Grief
“I know! We have to leave! He shook her, his voice raw.
She wanted to jump. Norman held her.
“Tammy! Don’t! There are whirlpools down there! Rip currets! You’ll die!”
“Lucas fell! Let go! I’m going after him!”
Norman raised his voice and roared, “He died to save you! Are you going to waste that?”
Tammy froze.
Below, nothing.
Around them, survivors were stunned and shaken.
Tammy suddenly shoved Norman away-he thought she’d do something rash-but she turned and searched.
“Todd-!”
She screamed and charged at him with terrifying speed.
So many had fallen. But the one who started it all was still alive.
He stood there, looking disappointed.
Disappointed the explosion didn’t kill everyone.
He was looking for an escape when he heard her. He spun-and before he could see her, a fist full of grief and rage hit him square in the face.
Crack.
The sound of breaking bone.
Todd screamed and fell back.
But she didn’t stop.
Tammy lost all reason. She mounted him and rained down blows. His head. His face. His chest:
She was going to shatter him.
Maybe then the pain of losing Lucas would stop.
“You! It’s all you! Bastard! Bring him back! Bring him back!”
She beat Todd relentlessly as he could barely put up any resistance, crying and screaming incoherently all
the while.
Chapter 689-Tammy’s Heart-wrenching Grief
Todd started with whimpers, then went quiet. His face was a mess. His eyes were glazed. She’d have killed him if Norman didn’t stop her,
“Tammy! Enough! Stop!”
Norman pulled her off, holding her from behind.
“Let go! I’ll kill him! Let me kill him!”
She fought, kicking. Tears and blood covered her face.
“Calm down! Tammy! Look at me!”
Norman held her tight and shouted, “Killing him won’t bring Lucas back!”
That hit her like cold water.
She collapsed in his arms, sobbing.
He was right. Even if she tore Todd apart, that man who’d pushed her away and fell into the abyss-he wasn’t coming back.
Lucas was really gone.
She broke down.
Thirteen people died in the blast.
Almost half the bodies were never recovered.
The currents under the port dragged them away.
The sea was vast. No chance.
Norman sent divers for three days-nothing. Only a bloodstained shirt.
Lucas’s shirt.
When Tammy got it, she froze.
Norman was left speechless, unable to find any words to comfort her.
After all, no amount of comfort could bring the person she had lost back to her.
Tammy told him to stop searching.
“Why?” Norman didn’t understand.
Slim as it was, no one wanted to give up. Especially Tammy. She should have been the most persistent yet she was the first to stop.

Chapter 689 Tammy’s Heart-wrenching Grief
“He’s dead.”
She said it almost calmly
Norman blinked, “How do you know?”,
Tammy looked out the window, “I can feel it. He’s dead.”
She had an animal-like instinct.
And that instinct told her Lucas was dead.
He had died beneath the sea.
Norman studied her face and started to worry.
“Are you okay?”
