Chapter 105 Don’t Get Too Emotional
“Hey, Mr. Vale. Never thought we’d see the day you stepped in for a girl.”

“Seriously. No matter how hot the woman was sitting next to him before, he never even looked twice, let alone stopped her from drinking.”
“Feeling soft now? Damn.”
Dorian ignored the teasing. He waved over a server and asked for a warm milk–for Arden.
She didn’t have to drink alcohol tonight, and she was honestly grateful for that. It made peeling shrimp for him feel a little less annoying.
She peeled a few and dropped them into his bowl.
Of course, he had to push it further. “Arden,” he said, “feed me.”
She shot him a look. “Mr. Vale, your hands broken or something?”
“You’re an adult. Eat it yourself,” she added. “Why are you acting like a kid?”
Arden pulled off her gloves and picked up the warm milk. She cradled it with both hands and took a slow sip.
A touch of milk clung to her lips. She set the glass down and casually licked it off with the tip of her tongue.
That soft, pink tongue. Dorian’s eyes darkened slightly. Funny. He’d never realized how pretty she was- especially in moments like this, when she wasn’t even trying.
After the milk, she moved on to dessert. Small bites, quiet chewing, her cheeks puffing out. He watched her eat, amused. For once, he didn’t bother teasing her again.
Then his eyes fell on the crab at the center of the table. He remembered her saying she liked crab–that night she was with Vincent at the restaurant.
Dorian slowly pulled on a pair of gloves. Without saying a word, he cracked the crab, removed the meat, and set it into Arden’s plate. “Eat.”
Everyone at the table froze, staring like they’d seen a ghost. Dorian Vale. In a tailored suit and a luxury watch, his hands perfectly veined and precise–was peeling crab for a woman.
Arden had always liked crab, just not the work of getting to it. She hadn’t expected him to remember, let alone do it for her.
For a moment, she was genuinely caught off guard. He noticed her staring, wide–eyed and shiny like glass. “Don’t get too emotional,” he said, raising an eyebrow. “Just eat.”
Arden was speechless. She dropped her gaze and started eating. It was the fullest she’d been in days.
As the group began talking business, Arden’s phone buzzed. She checked it–a new contact request on WhatsApp..
Name: Tyler. “Hi, you must be Clark’s friend. I’m his childhood friend.”
Arden stared at it. Clark really gave his friend her info?

She was about to message Clark when Dorian’s voice came low and annoyed beside her.
“Who’s Tyler?”
Startled, she immediately shut off her screen. “Were you looking at my phone?” she asked.
Dorian narrowed his eyes. “Don’t accept it.”
She glared at him. “Since when do you control who I talk to?”
He reached for her phone. “I’ll decline it for you.”

She yanked it away just in time–and to really make a point, she unlocked it and hit “accept” right in front of him. “You and Tyler are now connected on WhatsApp. Say hi!”
Dorian’s expression turned ice cold. “You blocked me on WhatsApp, and you’re adding him?”
“Yep,” she said. “I’ll add whoever I want. We agreed not to interfere in each other’s lives, remember? You do you, I do me.”
Dorian was speechless. “Unblock me.”
“No.”
“Arden.”
“Yes, Mr. Vale?”
Just then, Tyler sent a message, “Hey, Miss Wynn!”
Arden replied, “Hey.”
Dorian stared at her screen like it personally offended him. Thankfully, Tyler messaged again soon after, saying he was busy and would talk later.
Arden quietly let out a breath. After dinner, Dorian and Ares said they needed to stop by the club to talk business. He told Arden to come with them.
Inside the lounge, Dorian sank into the couch. “Come here.”
Arden walked over and sat beside him. “I’m heading into the back to talk,” he said. “Stay here with the others. Don’t drink.”
She nodded. Honestly, it was easier to breathe when he wasn’t around.
“If anything comes up, call me.”
“Got it. Now go.”
Dorian stood up and followed Ares into the private room.
This meeting was about military–grade chip tech–essential components for fighter jets. The material was unique and couldn’t be produced without classified data Ardellia’s top scientists had only just completed the research when one of them was assassinated on the light home.

Dorian managed to recover most of the data, but a final piece was still in Soutaria–in the hands of two dangerous arms dealers: Sevra and Ellis.
They were ruthless. Dealers of weapons, drugs, and people. No conscience. No limits.
Vivienne’s baby from back then? Ellis was the father.
Ares, meanwhile, was in charge of all military engineering. Most of Ardellia’s advanced jets, weapons, and tech fell under his jurisdiction. His true identity was top secret.
Dorian’s company in Soutaria existed for one reason–exporting confidential tech and materials for Ardellia’s national defense.
