Everything Was a Deal Until Divorce
Chapter 112 He Burned, She Stayed Cold
The room was filled with a kind of comfort that didn’t even make sense.

Dorian sat up, got out of bed, slid one arm under Arden’s knees and the other around her waist, then lifted her like she weighed nothing.
He meant to put her on the bed. But Arden woke up. She blinked, realizing she was in a warm, overheated embrace.
She looked up. Dorian looked down. Their eyes met.
Arden’s sleepiness vanished instantly. She struggled hard, guarded and tense. “Dorian, what are you doing? Put me down.”
“You can’t sleep like that. You’ll wake up sore. Get on the bed.”
His hand tightened at her waist, not letting go. Arden fought even harder. “Put me down, or I’ll never talk to you again.”
Their eyes locked. Arden was all fire and fury–snapping, clawing, like she actually might bite. And Dorian, steady and cold like a predator sizing her up, finally gave in… all because of that one threat.
He took a few steps to the bed and tossed her onto it. Then he climbed up, one knee on the mattress, leaning over her, arms braced on both sides of her, boxing her in like she was his territory.
His eyes went dark, his throat bobbing as he swallowed. Stay with me tonight.”
“No.”
Arden tried to sit up, but Dorian pinned her without hurting her. He softened, just a little. “I won’t touch you.”
His gaze stayed locked on her, intense and burning. Yeah. Sure.
Arden’s eyes went cold. Those beautiful eyes held nothing but indifference now, no warmth, no softness, nothing.
She bent her leg and aimed a kick straight at his lower body. Dorian jerked to the side to dodge, his face turning black. “Arden, are you insane? You kick there and you’re gonna regret it later.”
Arden took the opening and shot to her feet. “If I’d known it’d turn out like this, I should’ve just let you burn up and stayed out of it.”
She shot him a murderous glare and bolted out of the room. Dorian fell back on the bed, breathing heavy, swallowing hard, then laughed once under his breath.
Now even getting to hold her for one night felt like a luxury. He was married, and he’d been living like a saint. Because Arden had been in the room, the air was filled with a faint jasmine scent. It smelled good.
Dorian breathed it in greedily, then got up and touched his forehead. The fever was gone. He checked the
time. 3 a.m.
She’d taken care of him all the way until then.
Dorian glanced down at his lower stomach. He’d barely been brushed a few times and his body had already

reacted like he’d lost his mind.
He went into the bathroom.

All he could think about was Arden’s narrow waist, her red lips, those eyes that looked like they saw right through him.
His hand moved downward. His eyes closed. Half an hour later, a low, rough sound came from the bathroom.
When he came back out, he got into bed, pulled the blanket up, then turned his head and looked at the bowl of soup had been in. Arden rushed back to her own room, splashed water on her face, and crawled into bed.
She was exhausted. Dorian was dangerous, like something unhinged.
I can’t be soft again. Next time he’s sick, I need to let him deal with it alone.
Dorian woke up at seven. He had an acquisition meeting today, and Lucien had been waiting outside the suite early.
Sure enough, Dorian called him in. Lucien stepped inside and automatically looked around. Arden wasn’t there.
Yep. Boss got dumped again.
“Boss, should I wake Mrs. Vale?”
Thinking about how she’d stayed up until three taking care of him, Dorian pinched the bridge of his nose. The exhaustion in his eyes was obvious. “No. Let her sleep. You’re coming with me.”
He cleaned up fast, put on a shirt, tied his tie, and headed out. Before leaving, he swiped his key card into Arden’s room. The curtains were drawn, leaving the room dim.
Arden was curled into a small lump under the blanket, breathing evenly, completely out.
One pale, slender leg had slipped out from the covers, stretched lazily. Dorian stepped closer quietly and bent down.
He pulled the blanket back over her leg. Even in sleep, her lips were still that red.
He leaned in and pressed his mouth to them. She didn’t wake up.
Dorian lingered for a second, reluctant, then forced himself to pull away. He brushed his thumb lightly near the corner of her eye, then stood up.
His gaze flicked to the phone on the dresser. He picked it up, unlocked it, and removed himself from her block list.
Then he noticed Tyler’s WhatsApp. He had to physically restrain himself from blocking the guy. No. Not yet. If he messed with anything else, Arden would notice.
Dorian put the phone back where it was and walked out
He got into the car. He opened WhatsApp and typed, “Nothing urgent today. Sleep in. When I’m back, I’m taking you to dinner.”

Arden didn’t wake up until noon. She stretched, grabbed her phone, and bolted upright. She stayed up way too late. No wonder. Then she saw Dorian’s message.
She didn’t reply.
But a second later, she realized something and typed fast, “Dorian, how did you get off my block list?”
A reply came instantly. Dorian texted, “You unblocked me yourself last night.”
