Arden grabbed Isla’s hand as well. She didn’t want Isla dragged into her mess. If Dorian held a grudge, it could hurt the Boyd family’s business.

She cast a cold glance at Vivienne, who was still pretending to be weak, then pulled Isla toward the exit.

Cassian raised an eyebrow and stepped in front of them. Hey, the night’s barely started. Why leave so early, Miss Wynn? Kills the vibe.

He turned to Isla as well. Come on. Take your friend and sit down.

Everyone knew Dorian’s temper. If he didn’t allow someone to leave, Arden wasn’t going anywhere.

Isla looked at Dorian’s dark expression and the meaningful looks being thrown her way. She pulled Arden aside. Arden, let’s just sit over there. Let’s see what kind of show they’re putting on tonight.

Arden said nothing and let Isla lead her away. They took seats at the far end.

Arden’s expression was calm, almost detached. She had always been wellmannered. Pouring wine over someone in public was a first for her.

Isla tried to comfort her. Arden, if you’re upset, just cry.”

Arden blinked at her. Who said I’m upset? Do they really deserve my emotions?

To be honest, when Eugenia first approached her about marrying Dorian, Arden had felt a flicker of happiness the first time she saw him.

After all, he had once saved her. And the Vale family had promised fifty billion to save the Wynn Group.

But whatever hope or faint affection she had was dragged back to reality by Vivienne’s staged miscarriage three years ago. She still remembered the disgust in Dorian’s eyes.

That’s right,Isla said firmly. You’re amazing. Plenty of men would line up for you. Divorce him and find someone better.

Vivienne went to the restroom to change and fix her makeup. Dorian stayed seated, his face hidden in shadow, unreadable.

Cassian and the others were good at keeping things lively. They started a game, clearly not planning to let

Arden off the hook.

They played a simple card game of truth or dare. Arden declined at first.

A woman in a spaghettistrap top scoffed immediately. What are you acting so high and mighty for?

She glanced at Arden with contempt. Cassian inviting you is already doing you a favor. Back when the Wynn family was fine, people might’ve flattered you..

But now that the Wynn family is in trouble, Arden Wynn, what are you even putting on airs for?

It was Clara Miller, the youngest daughter of the Miller family. Arden looked at her. From the moment she arrived tonight and sat next to Dorian, Clara’s gaze had never left him.

Arden understood instantly. Clara was here for Dorian.

The Wynn family is none of your business,Arden said calmly. Instead of worrying about me, you should go home and remind your mother to keep an eye on your father’s assets.

She smiled faintly. Otherwise one day you might wake up to a few extra siblings competing with you for inheritance, and get kicked out with nothing when his mistress takes over.”

Clara’s face went pale.

Her father’s affairs and illegitimate children were an open secret among the elite circles. His mistress once showed up at the Miller house with a child, making headlines.

Furious, Clara stomped over to Dorian, clearly trying to act sweet.

Dorian glanced her way, his expression indifferent. Clara quickly backed off, embarrassed.

Vivienne returned after changing and fixing her makeup. She tried to sit beside Dorian.

Dorian reached out and dragged Cassian over, forcing Vivienne to sit next to Cassian instead.

Cassian stared ahead, speechless.

The dice rolled. The game began. Dorian was good at games. Several rounds passed without landing on him.

Theo, who loved stirring trouble, insisted on pulling Arden and Isla into the game. This time, Arden agreed and sat down on Dorian’s right.

She played a few rounds. Neither especially good nor bad. After several rounds, she lost.

Cassian raised an eyebrow. Miss Wynn, truth or dare?

Arden didn’t hesitate. Truth.

Cassian glanced at Dorian, then handed Arden a slip to draw. She picked one at random and opened it.

Cassian read it aloud. Do you have someone you like?

Arden thought about it seriously. She didn’t look at Dorian. No.

Cassian, Theo, and the others exchanged knowing looks and smiled. So she really was playing hard to get.

Really no one?someone pressed.

Arden nodded firmly. No.

Dorian stared at her as she said it, eyebrow lifting. He didn’t believe her.

The game continued. This time, Dorian lost. Cassian was immediately energized and shoved the slips

Howard him. Dorian lazily drew one.

Cassian read it aloud. Mr. Vale, what kind of woman do you like?

Dorian bit down on his cigarette. His shirt was unbuttoned at the collar, sleeves half rolled up.

His dark eyes lifted and locked onto Arden.

I like women who are sexy,” he said calmly. Women who are bold and seductive, confident in themselves, with a mature edge and a little wildness to them.

Isla cursed silently.

Bastard. And you had the nerve to look at Arden while saying that. Why not just say you don’t like women like her.
