Before he could finish, someone shouted, “What prizes?!”

Everyone laughed, but their eyes sparkled with curiosity.

The host was good at building suspense. He chuckled, “All I know is the prizes are worth between ten thousand and a hundred thousand dollars. You’ll find out what they are at the end!”

At that number, everyone’s eyes lit up like hungry wolves, eager to start.

Darcy looked around. Only five people were left: herself, Jethro, Zephyr, Cindy, and Rowan.

“The tasks are all over the island. We should split up. Two people go one way, three go the other, and meet up later.”

Cindy agreed, “That saves the most time. I’m in!”

But who should pair up?

Cindy wanted to be with Darcy. She was about to say so when Zephyr’s clear, magnetic voice cut in, “I’ll go with Cindy.”

Cindy was stunned.

She glared at him. Zephyr pretended not to see, pulling her arm toward the left.

That left the other three as a group.

Darcy kept her eyes forward, saying nothing, heading to the right.

Jethro silently followed her.

Rowan instinctively started to follow his boss, but as he took a step, he caught a subtle glance from him.

Rowan’s heart clenched. He immediately changed direction.

I should have stayed at the hotel. I shouldn’t have come on this trip.

The first task on the mini–app list was: “Find at least three items with the ‘Stratagem Tech‘ logo. Take photos and upload them. Once uploaded, the task is complete.”

The organizers had hidden branded items all over the island. They weren’t hard to find if you looked carefully.

The sun was a bit harsh. Darcy shaded her eyes, scanning the area filled with trees, a coffee shop, and a dessert shop. She thought the shops might have something.

“Mr. Kerr, you check the coffee shop. I’ll check the dessert shop. Look for branded items.”

She finished speaking but got no reply. Turning, she saw only Jethro in his white casual wear, one hand in his pocket, standing behind her. The island wind whipped his clothes, making him look effortlessly elegant.

No sign of Rowan!

Darcy was puzzled. “Where’s Mr. Kerr?”

Jethro raised a brow, his tone as mild as ever. “Stomachache. He told us to go ahead.”

Darcy didn’t question it. “Oh.” She pointed to the distant coffee shop. “Then, could you check the coffee shop?”
