Everything Was a Deal Until Divorce

Chapter 231 Letting Go Is the Only Way Out

Finished

This man held power that could blot out the sky with one hand. Only if he chose to let go would Arden ever have a way out.

Dorian glanced at Caleb without speaking. Just then, Arden walked over, and Caleb dropped the subject.

Arden kept her head lowered. Caleb asked softly, How did it go? Come home with me.

They wouldn’t agree,Arden said quietly. Grandpa and Grandma, Dad and Mom all said it’s too late.

The moment she finished speaking, Elias, Eugenia, Theresa, and Gideon came downstairs from the second floor.

Caleb,Elias said, it’s too late. Driving back now isn’t safe. Why don’t you stay the night? There are plenty of rooms.

Once Elias spoke, it was clear they weren’t letting Arden leave.

Out of respect for Elias and Eugenia, Caleb stood up. That’s alright. I have a driver waiting outside. My parents just miss Arden a lot. The drive back to the Wynn estate isn’t far, so I thought I’d take her home for a bit.

Gideon glanced at the pitchdark night outside and immediately dismissed the idea. His sonwho radiated authority even while sitting silently on the couchhadn’t said a word. If Dorian had agreed, he would’ve spoken up.

So Gideon said, It’s too late. This weekend, Dorian will go with Arden back to the Wynn house. Stay two nights.”

The Vale family had always treated Arden well. With everyone saying the same thing, Caleb couldn’t argue further.

He stood. Alright. It is late. I won’t disturb you any longer. Arden, I’ll head out.

I’ll walk you out,Arden said, standing up.

Go on,Eugenia said warmly. Walk your brother out. And this weekend, Dorian will go back with you.”

She turned to Dorian. You hear that? Clear your schedule. No work, no social obligations. Go back with your wife and stay two nights. You’re always so busyyou never make time for her.”

Dorian finally responded, Okay,”

Arden had already reached Caleb and looped her arm through his. Let’s go, Caleb.

Mm.Caleb politely said goodbye to the Vale family.

The siblings walked toward the door together.

You’re not even going to see him off?Theresa nudged Dorian with her foot.

Dorian stood up. Arden hurriedly said, It’s okay, really. I’ll do it.”

Dorian glanced at her but ignored the protest. He followed a few steps behind them.

Once outside the living room, Caleb lowered his voice. Arden, you’ve been staying with Dorian these past couple nights. Be careful. If he crosses a line, protect yourself. Do what you need to do. Don’t get pregnant -ever. You don’t want something like that tying you to him.

I know,Arden said calmly. He won’t touch me.”

That’s good. If you’re cutting things off, do it cleanly. No ties at all. Can you do that?

Arden nodded seriously. I can. I just want a normal life. And I’m completely over him.

Caleb studied her expression and finally relaxed. She had always been the kind of girl who never caused trouble. Once the Wynn family paid back the five billion, he, as her brother, would work even harder to give her a good life.

The Wynn family’s car was waiting outside the villa. Arden stood in the night breeze, waving as Caleb got in. Drive safe.”

Go back inside. It’s cold,Caleb said.

The car pulled away. Arden turned around and saw Dorian leaning against the doorway.

A cigarette rested between his lips, his face swallowed by the darkness, only the ember glowing faintly as it burned.

She walked toward the door and stepped back into the villa.

Dorian removed the cigarette, holding it between his fingers as he followed her. What were you whispering about with Caleb?

You already said itwhispering. Why would I tell you?

The breeze lifted her skirt slightly as she walked, idly kicking a small stone along the path.

The moon hung full above the villa, the night soft and quiet.
