Chapter 24 Whose Side Are You On?
Cassian said. “Damn. Getting a favor from Dorian? That’s rare.”
Cassian added. “So tell me–between your ex and your wife, who’re you gonna protect?”

Theo said, “I mean… if you say the kid wasn’t yours, Vivienne’s whole ‘pure innocent actress‘ act takes a hit. Her brand can’t survive a scandal like that.”
Cassian added. “But if you protect Vivienne, Arden’s basically screwed. She gets labeled a jealous mistress, a manipulative third wheel, and no decent company will hire her post–grad.”
Theo asked, “So what’s it gonna be, Dorian? Who are you saving?”
Dorian said. “Don’t you all have jobs?”
With Dorian’s order and Cassian’s media clout, the post vanished quickly. The video disappeared from every major platform, and the trending tags died down.
Arden’s classmates never even knew anything had happened. When she returned from a quick phone call, they were still laughing and telling her to grab a seat and eat.
She barely sat down when Isla messaged again.
Isla said, “Whoa. That video and all the trending posts? Poof. Gone. You call your husband?”
Honestly, Arden was just as curious. She didn’t know who pulled the strings–but she was grateful.
Arden said, “I didn’t call him.”
Isla replied, “Damn. You sure some mysterious sugar daddy isn’t out there secretly in love with you? Can we all get one of those?”
Her classmates were laughing and clinking glasses, and Arden set her phone aside without replying.
Like most farewell dinners, it was never just about the food. Afterward, the plan was drinks, music, and a long night out.
Naturally, Arden’s group followed suit. One of the trust–fund kids in class, set to inherit the family business after graduation, generously booked out a private room at Stellar Lounge so everyone could party without limits.
Just as Arden arrived at the club, her phone lit up with a call from an unknown number.
She wasn’t planning to answer, but the call kept coming, one after another, relentless. She stepped toward the end of the hallway by a tall window and finally picked up.
“Hello?”
A familiar voice answered. “Arden. It’s Vivienne.”
Arden wasn’t even surprised. “Wow. Miss Ash. What can I do for you?”

Vivienne’s tone was sharp. “You had that post taken down, didn’t you?
“Sure did. So?
Vivienne was seething. “That’s impossible. Dorian’s in love with me. You pushed me down the stairs. I was carrying his baby. Why would he help you?”
Arden let out a cold laugh. “Come on, Vivienne. We both know that’s not why you called. You know the truth about what happened three years ago. And if you were really carrying Dorian’s child, do you honestly think the Vale family would’ve just let it slide? That kid would’ve been born. If it was really his, why didn’t he marry you? Why did you go through all that drama, faking a miscarriage to trap him?”
There were only two possibilities: either the baby wasn’t Dorian’s, or he was cold enough to abandon his own child’s mother without hesitation.
Neither painted her in a good light.
Arden asked, “Still holding out hope he’ll marry you someday? Want my help with that?”
Vivienne screamed, called her crazy, and hung up.
Coincidentally, Cassian was also at the same bar that night. He’d stepped outside to smoke when he overheard part of Arden’s call.
When he heard the name Dorian, his gossip radar activated. He pulled out his phone and started recording.
After she hung up, he walked over.
Evening, Arden.”
She turned. “Cassian?” She instinctively glanced past him. No Dorian.
Cassian caught the look. He smirked. “Don’t worry, He’s not here.”
She nodded. “You out drinking?”
Had a meeting. Needed air.” Cassian grinned. “So, rumor has it you chased Dorian for years?”
She wasn’t surprised he knew. He and Dorian were close.
Yeah,” she said casually, not interested in chatting.
And at that birthday party–when every woman in the room was basically throwing themselves at him- you didn’t even flinch? Damn. You’re either really confident or just seriously chill.”
Arden raised a brow. “Do you think Dorian’s the type to be controlled by anyone? My friends are waiting.
Excuse me.”
She turned and walked off without a second glance. Cassian whistled low. He pulled out his phone and opened his chat with Dorian.
