Chapter 37 Secrets and Scandals
Of course it made sense.

Her uncle had always held a grudge. Their grandfather gave the company to her father–not to him, the eldest son. He’d always been a smiling snake.
It wouldn’t be surprising if he’d been sabotaging the Wynn Group from the shadows, trying to bring them to their knees.
If it weren’t for Eugenia’s five billion and the Vale family’s connections back then, her brother and father might’ve ended up behind bars.
That chemical plant explosion years ago–it had killed people.
And then there was the government project. The building had already topped out when a worker fell from the upper floor, triggering a major investigation. The verdict? Faulty construction materials.
This was a government job. The fallout had been massive.
Back when the contracts were negotiated, the materials were supposedly all up to code–but only the batch Caleb handled had passed inspection. The rest? Substandard.
For the past three years, Caleb had never stopped investigating those two cases.
The scandals had triggered a storm of public backlash. Wynn Group’s stock crashed. Billions in value vanished in just a month. Investors pulled out, partnerships crumbled, and the company’s cash flow collapsed, leaving a five–billion hole.
If the Vale family hadn’t stepped in, the Wynn Group would’ve been dead in the water.
So in some ways, Arden still felt thankful toward the Vales. That five billion and their influence had bought the family time–time to chase the truth.
But Vivienne had finally reached her limit. She believed that if she revealed to the media that the child she lost three years ago was Dorian’s, she could finally marry him.
With public speculation at a boiling point, she finally agreed to an interview.
Dorian had always been a mystery–brilliant, elusive, impossible to catch. Reporters had tried for years to get anything on him and failed. Now, finally, they had a story–and they were hungry. The questions were sharp.
Vivienne wore white. Just light makeup. The corners of her eyes were tinged with red.
She’d clearly been crying.
A reporter said, “Miss Ash, is the video Buzznet posted real?”
Vivienne said, “Yes. That footage is from three years ago.”
The reporter said, “Online sources claim you were almost three months pregnant at the time, and Arden

pushed you down the stairs, causing a miscarriage. Is that true?”
Vivienne said, “Yes. I was nearly three months along. I fell from the third floor. There was blood everywhere. At the hospital, the doctor told me I lost the baby.”
At that moment, two tears rolled perfectly down her cheeks. “I should’ve protected him better.” She looked delicate and fragile. The kind of beauty that made people instinctively want to comfort her. The reporter said, “Did Arden push you in that video? Was that what caused the fall and miscarriage?” Vivienne said, “Maybe she didn’t mean to… but she did shove me, hard.”
That was a clear admission. She was saying Arden pushed her. The reporters leaned in, eyes gleaming. The reporter said, “There’s also a rumor the baby you lost belonged to Dorian Vale. Is that true?”
That was the real bombshell. The one the reporters–and the entire internet–wanted. Cameras rushed in, zooming right into her face.
Vivienne looked straight into the camera, soft and pitiful. Then she nodded. “Yes. The baby was his.”
That one sentence detonated across the elite social circles.
At the Vale estate, Eugenia had just gotten a message from Caleb. He said he wanted Arden and Dorian to divorce, and that he’d return the five billion.
She shot to her feet. “That ungrateful little bastard!”
She immediately called Lucien. He was knee–deep in media control, and seeing Eugenia’s name pop up made his stomach twist.
As expected, the second he answered, her voice exploded through the phone. “Where the hell is Dorian? Has he been messing around again?”
Remembering Dorian’s warning, Lucien swallowed hard and held the phone a little farther away. “Ma’am, Mr. Vale isn’t in the office.”
She cursed him out for a solid thirty seconds, then hung up. She didn’t even need to dig further.
Celine Vale, all the way in Merovia, had seen the headlines about her brother, his wife, and of course, Vivienne–the childhood sweetheart.
What made it worse? Vivienne was holding a live press conference.
And she’d just told the world that the baby she lost three years ago was her brother’s.
Celine was stunned. She immediately opened WhatsApp. She sent a message, “Dorian, is the video real? That video…”
No response. She tried a video call. No answer.
Then she called him. Still no answer.

She sent another message. “Dorian, if Arden sees this, she’s going to divorce you.”
She sent another. “You’ve got the worst damn temper, and Arden still loves you. Turns out your temper’s not the only thing that’s garbage. You are too.”
Another. “You actually got Vivienne pregnant and now you’re letting her flaunt it in front of Arden? You’re a disgrace.”
And another. “I’m saying it now. You’re going to regret this someday.”
