Everything Was a Deal Until Divorce
Chapter 82 She’s Already Gone
That look in her eyes… Like she was scraping him out of her heart for good.

Lucien swallowed and said cautiously, “I’m not sure I can stop her. Maybe you should go in person?”
Dorian shot him a glance. “Then should we be splitting your paycheck?”
Lucien shook his head quickly. “No need. I’ll go tonight.”
Dorian stood, lit a cigarette, and walked to the window. Outside lay the skyline of Avalen’s wealthiest district. But all he could see was Arden’s cold stare and the way she’d said, “I want a divorce.”
Meanwhile, Arden thought she’d be getting off work on time, but Sienna called her over before she could leave.
“There’s been a hiccup with the project. We’ve got to meet the other party’s exec tonight.”
In their line of work, unless the contract was signed and sealed, anything could ge. And dinner
meetings like this? Par for the course.
“Got it.”
Sienna looked at her outfit. “Wear something more formal. Go home, grab a bite, and I’ll pick you up. Where do you live?”
“Pretty close to the office. Cloudwind Court.”
Arden added quickly, “I rent.”
Sienna nodded. “Make sure you eat something.”
Because chances were, they’d be drinking tonight. She slung her bag over her shoulder and left. She had to grab a bite too and get changed.
Arden sat back down and texted Isla. Arden texted, “Isla, I have to go to a client dinner with my mentor tonight. Let’s reschedule dinner.”
Isla replied, “All good. Just ping me when you’re free.”
By the time she finished the message, the office was nearly empty. She grabbed her bag and headed for the elevator.
Down in the lobby, Lucien was chatting with the receptionist.
Arden had no desire to deal with Dorian or his people. One glance, then she headed straight for the exit.
Lucien scrambled to catch up. As soon as they stepped outside, he called out, “Mrs. Vale!”
Arden didn’t stop. He rushed ahead to block her path. “Mrs. Vale, the boss asked me to drive you back to the
villa.”
She checked the time, then said sharply, “Lucien, don’t call me that. I’m not Mrs. Vale. Call me Arden.”

He tried again, “Please come with me. He’s waiting for you in the car.”

Not far away, a sleek black Hummer idled. A man sat inside. The window rolled down. Dorian, arm resting on the frame, looked her way.
Arden didn’t even blink. “What a joke. Just because he’s waiting, I’m supposed to get in his car? I’m divorcing your boss. I’m never going back to that villa. Don’t waste your time.”
Her frustration spilled over. “Why not pick up Mi

“Last night your boss stood up for her in front of every major player in Avalen’s elite circles. Why not take her home instead?”
She gave a cold laugh. “He’s Dorian Vale. You think he’s lacking in women? Now move. You’re in my way.”
She brushed past him and walked off. Lucien had his phone on speaker. It was still connected. Dorian heard every word.
The cigarette in his hand had burned down, searing his fingers. He didn’t even notice. He watched Arden’s back. So stubborn. So done with him.
She didn’t look back. He looked away.
Lucien returned to the car and climbed into the driver’s seat. “She’s not coming.”
“Okay.”
Lucien glanced in the rearview mirror. Dorian had already pulled out his laptop and was typing away, unfazed.
“Follow her. I want to know where she lives.”
“…Alright.”
The car started up and trailed behind her. Arden noticed almost immediately.
She didn’t bother hiding. Dorian could easily dig up her address if he wanted. Let him. At this point, she felt nothing for him. Just like a stranger.
She walked straight into Cloudwind Court. Dorian waited until she entered before signaling Lucien to drive off.
Upstairs, Arden opened her curtains and saw the Hummer finally pull away. Only then did she exhale.
She quickly changed, grabbed her bag, and went downstairs to eat a quick dinner.
As soon as she finished, her phone rang. Sienna was on the other end. “Arden, you ready? I’m coming to get you.”

“I’m good. I’m already at the gate.”
“Alright, wait there.”
Arden stood outside Cloudwind Court. Soon, a white Volkswagen pulled up. Sienna rolled down the window. Her face tonight was even more stunning than at work–cool and sharp.
A walking work of art. Arden couldn’t help but stare a little.
“What are you spacing out for? Get in.”
“Right.”
Finished
She opened the passenger door and climbed in. The car smelled like Sienna’s perfume–light, elegant, and expensive.
