Ew... I Slept With My 'Bro' For 3 Years?! Well, GO HELL, F*ckboy novel Chapter 8

Chapter 8

When I godrained frot home, Mom had dinner ready.

She looked like she wanted to say something. The Morgan boy… did you see him downstairs?”

I took a sip of soup. Nodded.

“He kept asking. I felt bad, so I told him where we moved. Apparently he and Brielle broke things off. Massive fight. His parents had to write a check just to get her family to back down”

“He seems different this time. Said he’s thought everything through. That he wants to make it right.” She hesitated. “And you haven’t been seeing anyone, so I thought… maybe it’s worth considering?”

I set my spoon down. “Mom, I’m over him.”

She sighed. “I know things are different now, but you two were together for years. People talk. Family, neighbors. You know how it is.”

I shrugged. “Let them.”

Tm not going back to him.”

Grayson somehow got my number. Started blowing up my phone with friend requests.

When that didn’t work, he started showing up outside my office. Every single day.

A few times when I stayed late, he brought food straight to my desk.

I dumped it in the trash while he watched.

“Can you not? I’m tired of throwing your stuff out.”

His eyes were red-rimmed. “That’s okay. Maybe you didn’t like it. I’ll make something else tomorrow.”

I didn’t understand.

This guy who always acted like he was too good for me-now he was doing this?

He kept at it. Different meal every day.

My coworkers started asking if he was my boyfriend.

Grayson smiled. Before he could answer, I said, “No.”

The color m his face.

He hadn’t expected me to shut him down in front of people.

Probably never knew how much it stings to be denied like that.

I didn’t care though.

Chapter 8

I didn’t love him anymore.

Grayson just got more desperate.

Last week I caught the flu. Got really sick.

He found out from my mom. Left bags of stuff at our door.

When Mom opened it, he was already gone.

She brought everything to my room.

I was half-delirious with fever, but I spotted the jelly drinks.

Suddenly I remembered.

Years back, he’d gotten sick. I stayed up all night taking care of him.

He’d pointed at the jelly drinks I brought and laughed weakly. “I have a fever. What am I supposed to do with those?”

I’d opened one. “You don’t get it. These always help when I’m sick.”

The memories hit hard.

You’re more fragile when you’re sick.

I felt something. Maybe regret.

For all those years we had.

But also relief.

At least I only wasted twenty years. Not a lifetime.

After I got better, Grayson showed up with two tickets of Disneyland.

“You always wanted to go.”

I stared at the tickets. Didn’t say anything.

I did still want to go Disneyland.

Back then, I wanted to go with him. Thought every beautiful moment should be his too.

Now? He wasn’t part of that anymore.

I pushed the tickets back.

“Actually, I already got some.”

Chapter 8

From now on, I’d go alone.

Week later, work organized a hiking trip. Two days in the mountains.

I went
