shared passionate kisses right there on the powder, the air faintly radiating the sweet, mingling pheromones of young love.
Standing beside Seraphina, Mortimer watched these scenes play out. A deep, undeniable wave of pure envy swelled in his eyes.
His heart fluttered. He turned his head to look at her and softly offered, “Do you want… me to teach you?”
Seraphina snapped out of her traumatic daze.
Looking at Mortimer, the memory of that specific day when he had callously left her behind in the freezing tundra-violently crashed back into her mind. She gave a slow, freezing shake of her head. “No need. I know how.”

Chapter 173
Third Person’s POV
Long before Mortimer had actually agreed to go to Alaska with her, Seraphina had secretly practiced skiing countless times in private.
She had desperately wanted to make sure she wouldn’t hold him back when they finally hit the slopes together.
Hearing her confident answer, Mortimer’s expression froze for a fraction of a second. “You know how to ski?”
Seraphina gave a short, affirmative “Mhm,” and immediately grabbed her snowboard, walking straight toward the lifts without looking back.
Mortimer stood behind her, his chest completely overflowing with frustration.
Sometimes, having an incredibly capable wife wasn’t a good thing-he didn’t even get the chance to show off or act like a protective Alpha.
He sighed heavily and followed her up the slope. “Then let’s ski together.”
Seraphina didn’t refuse.
She pulled her goggles down over her eyes and took a deep breath. Behind the tinted lenses, that suffocating sense of dread seemed to lessen just a fraction.
After completing a smooth run down the beginner’s slope, she felt like her condition was actually pretty stable.
Realizing that she might actually be able to slowly overcome this psychological hurdle, her tense mood finally began to relax. A faint, genuine smile unconsciously bloomed across her face.
Catching her relaxed expression and seeing she was in a good mood, Mortimer immediately closed the distance between them.” Sera, I had no idea you were this good. Let’s move to a different trail. We can leave this one for the young couples.”
Seraphina didn’t object.
She had already noticed the corporate PR photographers snapping pictures of them from a distance. Those photos were undoubtedly going to be used as promotional material to crush the divorce rumors.
Since she had agreed to come, she would naturally cooperate until the very end.
The two of them headed straight for the advanced slopes.
Just as they arrived at the top of the trail, a massive wave of cheering erupted from below.
Seraphina looked down and saw a snowboarder flawlessly executing an aerial grab off a high jump, launching into a spectacular backflip as the crowd screamed in awe.
When the snowboarder landed, the tail of his board carved violently into the powder, instantly kicking up a massive wave of snow half the height of a man. The white powder surged downward like a terrifying, collapsing tidal wave chasing right behind him.
Seeing that specific scene, Seraphina instantly turned to stone.
The blood in her veins felt like it had been flash-frozen.
She desperately wanted to run, but her feet felt like they were buried in ten feet of packed ice. She couldn’t move a single muscle.
Her vision tunneled until all she could see was blinding, suffocating white. In a split second, she was violently dragged back to that day-standing completely alone in the freezing tundra, the distant, muffled sounds of desperate screams echoing around her, as a colossal, roaring wall of white death plummeted toward her, swallowing her alive.

Her body began to shake violently.
It felt like shards of crushed ice were circulating through her veins. She was trembling so hard her teeth chattered.
She saw herself buried alive under the snow again-helpless, suffocating, and utterly desperate.
And ringing in her ears was Mortimer’s cold, callous text message, dripping with impatience and cruel-accusation.
She hadn’t overcome her fear at all.
She had just been lying to herself, burying the terror deep in the darkest corner of her mind.
She was so cold. She was so terrified.
“Help…” Her vision began to black out. She couldn’t even force the sound past her paralyzed throat.
“RUN! ESCAPE! GET OUT OF THIS DAMN PLACE!” Inside her, Lily was violently cornered by the terrifying PTSD flashback, shrieking in absolute, bloodcurdling panic within their shared mental space.
Driven completely insane by extreme terror, Lily completely lost her rationality. The wolf began to frantically fight for control of Seraphina’s physical body, desperate to forcefully shift and sprint away.
In an instant, Seraphina’s fingernails violently elongated, sharpening into lethal wolf claws. Coarse, rigid wolf fur even began to sprout through the skin on the back of her hands-she was losing control and entering a forced, partial shift!
At that exact moment, Mortimer finally realized something was horribly wrong.
“Sera?! What’s wrong? Why are you shaking so badly?!”
His face drained of color. He reached out, cupping her cheeks with both hands, frantically shouting her name next to her ear.
But Seraphina was completely trapped inside her own nightmare of crushing snow. She couldn’t hear a single thing.
Beneath her goggles, her face was terrifyingly pale, her lips completely drained of blood.
Seeing her completely unresponsive and hyperventilating, Mortimer descended into pure panic.
He rapidly kicked off his snowboard and violently yanked her into his massive chest, his voice cracking. “Sera, say something! What the hell is happening to you?”
Feeling her body temperature skyrocketing and the razor-sharp claws digging dangerously into his jacket, Mortimer’s Alpha instincts immediately diagnosed the crisis. Seraphina was about to undergo à forced, uncontrolled shift right in the middle of a
crowded ski resort.
A feral, predatory light instantly ignited in the depths of Mortimer’s eyes. Without a single second of hesitation, he violently ripped the collar of Seraphina’s ski jacket open.
Tilting his head, his scorching hot lips clamped down hard directly over the bulging scent gland on the side of her neck. Driven by pure, undeniable possessiveness, he bit down.
“Soothe her!” he roared mentally to his wolf.
