Third Person’s POV

“Mortimer? Mortimer?” Seeing Mortimer suddenly freeze, Humphrey called out to him several times.

Mortimer snapped back to reality.

“Mortimer, what happened just now? You look terrible,” Humphrey asked.

“It’s nothing.” Mortimer withdrew his gaze and shook his head.

After the living room decorations were finished, Chloe, who had come over with Randall, casually asked, “Where is Luna Seraphina? Is she not back yet?”

She had no idea that Seraphina had moved out of the Alpha Villa long ago, so she asked without overthinking it.

Recalling Seraphina’s freezing attitude over the past few days, a faint sense of unease crept into Mortimer’s heart.

He picked up his phone and opened his messaging app. Pinned at the very top, Seraphina’s profile picture remained completely

silent.

“Did she forget, or is she not coming?”

No, she wouldn’t. Seraphina was a woman of her word. Since she had promised him that day, she wouldn’t break it.

After comforting himself with this thought, the anxiety in Mortimer’s heart subsided slightly.

“I’ll send her a message and ask.” Mortimer walked out onto the balcony with his phone and sent Seraphina a text.

“Everyone’s here. Where are you? Should I come pick you up?”

After sending the message, he stared intently at the screen, nervously waiting for a reply.

But after waiting for quite a while, there was still no activity on Seraphina’s end.

Mortimer’s face gradually darkened.

“Mortimer, what did Luna Seraphina say? Is she coming?” Humphrey walked over and asked, seeing Mortimer staring silently at his phone.

“She normally doesn’t hang out with us, so we’re all a bit distant. Since we’re all here today, it’s the perfect time to properly apologize to Luna Seraphina for what happened before.”

Humphrey rambled on, completely oblivious to Mortimer’s expression turning uglier by the second.

Seeing Mortimer continuously staring at his device, Humphrey discreetly peeked at the screen-the chat window was empty except for the message Mortimer had just sent.

Looks like Seraphina hasn’t replied. No wonder Mortimer looks so miserable.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

“That must be Luna Seraphina! She’s so polite, actually ringing the doorbell to her own house.” Humphrey tried to lighten the mood but was gently shoved by Alina beside him.

“Alina, why did you push me?” Alina completely ignored him.

Catching her expression, Humphrey quickly changed the subject–he had a strong feeling Alina was about to call him an idiot again.

Mortimer’s eyes lit up slightly. He turned expectantly toward the living room, only to see that it was the catering staff from the

“Alpha Mortimer, this is the dinner you ordered for tonight. Please sign for it.”

The light that had just sparked in Mortimer’s eyes immediately died out.

After signing for the food, he checked his phone again. Seraphina still hadn’t replied.

A visible layer of anxiety began to seep into his gaze.

“Let’s wait a bit longer. Luna Seraphina is probably already on her way back.” Seeing Mortimer’s mood souring rapidly, Randall stepped in to offer some comfort.

Just then, the doorbell rang again..

“See? I told you Luna Seraphina was here.” Humphrey rushed over to open the door.

Mortimer expectantly cast his gaze toward the entrance once more.

“Hello, this is the reserved birthday cake. Please sign here.”

Wilmot, who had been sitting on the sofa scrolling through his phone, stood up and walked over upon hearing this.

“Right, I ordered the cake.” Wilmot signed for it and brought the box inside.
