Chapter 220
Third Person’s POV:
Mortimer slowly lifted his gaze. His wolf eyes were as cold as ice as they locked onto Randall.
“What man?”
His voice was low and frigid. The overwhelming possessiveness of an Alpha’ swept through the room, sending a chill down everyone’s spine.
Randall instinctively snatched up his phone and shoved it into his pocket. “It’s nothing,” he said, shaking his head. “You heard wrong, Mortimer.”
He deliberately avoided Mortimer’s eyes. The next second, a crushing wave of Alpha pressure erupted from Mortimer, flooding the entire private room.
The absolute dominance of a Pack Alpha left Randall and Humphrey frozen in place. Every bone in their bodies seemed to groan under the weight. Their hearts felt as though they were being crushed by an invisible hand. It was an order from their Alpha. They couldn’t disobey.
Under this suffocating pressure, a blur shot across the room.
Before anyone could react, Mortimer had already snatched Humphrey’s phone off the table. His crimson wolf eyes burned with barely restrained fury. “Unlock it.”
“Mortimer…”
“Unlock it.” His voice was even colder this time. The Alpha pressure intensified, and the wolf spirit inside him was on the verge of breaking free.
Unable to resist, Humphrey hurriedly unlocked the phone, his fingers trembling.
The moment Mortimer looked at the screen and saw the photos Vivian had sent, his expression turned terrifyingly dark.
“Mortimer, Luna Seraphina isn’t that kind of person. There has to be some misunderstanding.” Fighting against the lingering Alpha pressure, Humphrey forced himself to speak.
Mortimer didn’t answer. His eyes remained fixed on the photos. His bloodshot gaze looked ready to bleed, and his knuckles turned white around the phone.
So this was why she’d stood him up today.
Because of another Alpha, she couldn’t even be bothered to visit him at the Healing Center. She hadn’t come to his birthday dinner, either.
But she’d promised. She’d said she would think about it!
“Mortimer, calm down.” Someone spoke quietly beside him.
He didn’t react. He kept staring at the photos. Seraphina’s smile looked so carefree and relaxed.
His wolf spirit felt as though it were being carved apart, blade by blade. Every heartbeat sent another stab of pain through his chest. In the three years she’d been his mate, had she ever smiled that freely in front of him?
“Mortimer… Maybe you should call Luna Seraphina and ask her. There could be a misunderstanding. Don’t let it destroy your mate bond.” Humphrey spoke cautiously, unable to take his eyes off his own phone.
For some reason, he had a feeling Mortimer might crush it in his hand at any second.
“He’s right. You know exactly what Vivian’s like. She’s a manipulative Omega. She’d love nothing more than to see you and

Luna Seraphina fall apart so she can worm her way back into your pack.”
Chloe was even more blunt. As a woman, nothing disgusted her more than someone like Vivian, always stirring up drama.” Instead of sitting here driving yourself.crazy, why don’t you ask Luna Seraphina directly? It’ll be better for both of you.”
Everyone expected the enraged Alpha Mortimer to explode. Maybe even flip the table. Instead, his Alpha pressure surrounding him gradually faded away.
Without a word, he tossed the phone back to Humphrey, then gestured for everyone to sit. “Let’s eat.”
“What about Luna Seraphina…”
“She’s just having dinner with a friend. There’s nothing to make a fuss over.” His voice was calm. Almost unnaturally calm. As though the raging wolf inside him no longer existed.
That only made the friends who had grown up with him even more uneasy.
