Chapter 232
Third Person’s POV
Vivian looked at Connor’s furious expression and no longer dared to act impulsively. She forcibly suppressed the restless instincts of her wolf and replied reluctantly, “Dad, relax. I’ll go find Mortimer now.”
With that, she quickly left the house and took a car out.
But this time, Vivian was destined to return empty-handed
Connor waited anxiously at home for most of the day, but no good news ever came.`
It was not until dusk that Vivian pushed open the door, her face full of defeat.
“How did it go? What did Mortimer say?” Connor hurriedly approached her.
Vivian shook her head weakly, her voice tinged with hurt. “I couldn’t find him at all. He cut off all contact with me and removed every trace of my scent. I went to the villa this afternoon, but the guards wouldn’t even let me through the gate. They said the alpha’s orders were clear-I wasn’t allowed anywhere near the Blade pack’s inner territory.”
She looked deeply shaken, tears gathering in her reddened eyes. “Dad, am I really going to lose Mortimer forever?”
She bit her lip hard, refusing to accept this reality no matter what.
Her gaze grew increasingly obsessive. “Clearly… clearly I was just one small step away from becoming the most honored Luna of the entire pack! Why did it turn out like this? If only I hadn’t gone abroad, I could have stayed by Mortimer’s side all along. Seraphina wouldn’t have had the chance to take my place, and my name would already be on that mating bond!”
At this point, her reddened eyes looked at Connor with intense resentment, her breathing growing heavy. “This is all because of you and my brother! We had already settled things with that family back then. They took the money and agreed to keep quiet, but you still sent me away. You’re the one who made me lose Mortimer!”
Connor was already consumed by worry over the company’s impending bankruptcy. When Vivian showed no regret and even turned around to blame him, he was filled with rage.
He raised his hand and struck her across the face, the force of the blow sending Vivian’s head snapping to the side.
The burning pain on her face instantly triggered the rage within Vivian.
As a werewolf, her animal instincts took over, leaving no room for rational thought.
She suddenly turned her head, her face twisted with extreme anger.
A deep growl escaped Vivian’s throat before she could stop it. A ghostly green light flickered in her eyes, and her nails rapidly transformed into sharp wolf-like claws.
Her body dipped lower, her half-transformed state showing through. It looked like she was only a second away from losing control and lunging at Connor.
Connor recoiled at her sudden aggression, taking a step back. Still, he clenched his teeth and forced himself to speak. “You stil have the nerve to bring up what happened back then?! If you hadn’t caused trouble and gotten someone killed, putting the entire family at risk, do you think I would’ve sent you abroad to hide? Fine, go tell Mortimer the truth. Tell him exactly why I had no choice but to send you away!” 1
His words were like a harsh wake-up call, crushing Vivian’s anger in an instant.
The memory of those shameful secrets snapped her back to her senses.
Vivian’s face suddenly turned pale, and the beastly glow in her eyes faded instantly as her wolf instincts retreated.

The rage and murderous intent that had just risen were completely replaced by overwhelming fear.
She panted heavily, the veins on the back of her hand bulging as it froze in midair.
Then, she forced the growl back down, her sharp claws slowly retracting into her fingertips as her trembling hands returned to
normal.
She immediately lowered her posture.
She stepped forward, grabbing Connor’s sleeve like a frightened pup seeking forgiveness. “Dad, don’t be mad, I was just confused and said something I shouldn’t have.”
She forced out an awkward smile. “Dad, it’s the weekend. Mortimer isn’t at the Craig Group, and the pack’s security is too tight for me to get in. I’ll go to the office and find him when the company opens tomorrow.”
Connor snorted coldly and shook off her hand. “You’d better really get it done.”
Monday came in the blink of an eye, and it was also Seraphina’s first time going to school as a teacher. She got up early, washed up, put Dash in the stroller, and walked toward the teaching building.
The staff cafeteria at Shadowfang Academy offered a wide variety of food. Seraphina pushed Dash toward the cafeteria, meeting some people along the way who recognized her and her dog.
They all greeted her. “Good morning!”
“Wow! Is this Dash? So cute.”
“Good morning, Ms. Hale.”
