Chapter 251
Third Person’s POV
“I don’t care,” Mortimer said without hesitation, his gaze fixed on her, hoping to see even the slightest change in her expression.
Seraphina’s expression remained calm. “I did those things willingly back then. I never blamed you. If I ask you to make it up to me now, it would feel like I’m forcing you.”
“No, not at all. I was willing too,” Mortimer replied.
Perhaps Seraphina’s words gave him a glimmer of hope. He continued urgently, as if grasping at the last possible chance. “Sera, I never saw it as unfair. I chose this willingly. Please… give me another chance. Sign it, and let’s start over. Let’s begin again with this new agreement.”
He forced a smile, but his eyes betrayed him. His lashes trembled, the corners of this eyes reddened, and he looked utterly
broken.
The friends who had come to watch his attempt to win her back now found it hard to keep watching, wanting to speak up for
Mortimer.
But the moment they remembered how Seraphina had almost died alone in that avalanche because of Mortimer’s mistake, and how her wolf soul had nearly been lost, their words died on their lips.
“Sera…” Mortimer’s voice was hoarse, tinged with pleading.
Seraphina finally moved. She reached for the contract, and Mortimer’s dull eyes suddenly brightened as he watched her with renewed hope.
But instead, she simply pushed the contract aside. She looked at him with her usual calm expression and said, “The contract has expired. I won’t be renewing it.”
As soon as she finished speaking, everyone in the living room seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. Their eyes all fell on Mortimer, filled with sympathy and mixed emotions.
Mortimer’s already strained smile completely collapsed, and he froze in place.
“Weren’t we here to talk about ending things? Let’s not bother with these formalities,” Seraphina said. Without looking at anyone else, she took out the agreement she had prepared and placed it or the coffee table in the living room.
When the others heard the words “ending things,” they looked at each other in surprise. Today was the third anniversary of Seraphina and Mortimer’s bond. Mortimer had said he wanted to apologize and make a new vow to her, so they had come.
Everyone had assumed that Seraphina might refuse to forgive him, but they never expected her to sever the mate bond completely. After all, Mortimer had never truly betrayed her.
Yet that was exactly why she had come today.
They exchanged glances; the silence between them grew heavier. Someone found an excuse to leave first, then a second, and a third followed suit.
As the others slowly left, Mortimer stayed where he was, kneeling on one knee as if he had been turned to stone.
“Mortimer, we should get going…” Randall started, but Chloe shot him a look and pinched him before he could finish.
“Mortimer, don’t do anything impulsive. Talk things through with Seraphina.” Randall gave him one last look before leaving.
Once the others were gone, the living room sank into a suffocating silence.
Seraphina rubbed her brow helplessly, not even having the energy to be angry anymore.

“Get up,” she said, handing the agreement to Mortimer. “Take a look. If there’s no problem, just sign it.”
The agreement to dissolve their bond was actually very simple.
Although they were mates, Seraphina didn’t make outrageous demands or try to take half his assets.
However, the so-called “compensation” Mortimer had specified in the previous contract was also included in the agreement. Everything was handled according to the original contract, which was only fair.
Only then did Mortimer seem to realize what was happening. With shaking hands, he took the document from her.
The 100 million dollars was the amount they had agreed on from the beginning-the compensation for three years of their bond. At the time, Mortimer had thought it was more than enough. Most werewolves could never earn that much in their entire
lives.
But now, looking at that number, he found it deeply ironic-he had given Vivian even more than that.
“There’s a problem with this agreement,” Mortimer said hoarsely.
Seraphina’s brows immediately drew together. Her first thought was that Mortimer was about to do something reckless again, and displeasure flickered in her eyes.
But she still forced herself to ask patiently, “What is it?”
Mortimer’s long fingers pointed to the compensation term.
