Chapter 6
Ryan walked in, saw me sitting on the couch, looked surprised. “Why didn’t you cook?”
“Not tonight.” I pointed at the table. “Come here. We need to talk.”
“About what?” He walked over, saw the documents, face went pale. “What’s…”
“Sit.”
He sat. Eyes darting.
I picked up the first document–credit card statement. “Hawaii. One day over 120k.”
“That… that’s getting reimbursed.”
“Reimbursed?” I smiled, picked up the second document. “HR testimony. The company didn’t organize a Hawaii retreat. You took vacation days.”
Ryan’s face went white.
‘There’s more.” I grabbed the third document. “Hotel booking record. Oceanview suite for two. Honeymoon package. Names on the reservation: Ryan Wilson, Sienna Brooks.”
‘I…”
‘Hold on. Not done yet.” I held up the fourth document. “Video from the PI. You and Sienna kissing on the beach, wrapped up by the pool, in the hotel room…”
‘Enough!” Ryan shot up. “You had me followed?!”
‘Sit. Down.”
My voice was ice–cold. He froze, sat back down.
picked up the last document. “Recovered chat logs. Over two hundred messages. Right here. ‘Wife’s so easy to fool,‘ ‘When I’m livorced I’ll marry you,‘ ‘All she does is spend money.“”
yan went quiet.
pushed all the documents in front of him. “Ryan, got anything to say?”
He kept his head down. After a long silence: “I’m sorry.”
‘Sorry?” I laughed.
‘Last year when Dad was in the hospital, you gave me five grand. Said ‘company’s tight on cash.‘ This year you took your mistress to Hawaii, only one day you dropped 120k. Gave her a $10,000 necklace, gave me a $20 scarf. That’s your tight on

cash“?”
Ryan looked up, opened his mouth, but I cut him off.
“Your vacation was seven days. But this marriage? Not even worth seven minutes of your precious time.”
He froze.
I stood, placed the divorce agreement in front of him. “Sign it.”
“Babe…”
“I’m taking custody. Asset division–3 million in marital property, I’m taking.2.1 million. You get 900k.”
“No way!”
“Way.” I pointed at the evidence. “This is enough to leave you with nothing. 2.1 million–I’m already being generous.”
Ryan stared at the documents, face cycling between shades of white and green.
“When… when did you find out?”
‘Day before you left. Your suitcase. Size–two dress.”
‘Right. You really thought I was that stupid.” I sat back down.
‘I…”
‘Don’t explain. I don’t want to hear it.” I pointed at the agreement. “Sign it. Tomorrow we’re going to the courthouse.”
yan picked up the pen, hand shaking.
What if I don’t sign?”
Then we’ll see each other in court. You’ll walk away with nothing and owe damages on top of it.”
le looked at me, expression complicated. “You’ve changed.”
Yeah. I have.” I looked him dead in the eye. “I’m done believing lies like ‘I’ll take care of you.”
yan looked down, signed the agreement.
took it, glanced over it, stood up. “Jamie’s staying with me. You have visitation rights, but honestly? I’d rather you didn’t ome around.”
Why?”
Because I don’t want him knowing his dad’s a cheating liar.”

Chapter 6
I turned, left the living room, walked into the bedroom, shut the door.
Leaned against it, eyes closed, took a deep breath.
Finally over.
Five years of marriage. Five years of trust. Five years of giving everything.
All over.
But I didn’t regret it.
At least I still had Jamie.
And I had myself.
