Ex Wife's Collapse After Divorce novel Chapter 61

Chapter 61

“What’s wrong?” Damian asked, his voice all silk concern, “Saw who?”

“It’s nothing.” She forced a laugh. “My eyes are playing tricks on me. I thought I saw Ethan for a second.”

Damian’s eyes flickered. He gestured toward the marble, the crystal chandeliers, and the five-figure membership fees. “How could Ethan possibly come to a place like this? Even if he managed to latch onto Sophie, a kept man is still just a kept man. Sophie would never bring him to a place this high-end.”

“Vivian… you’re not still thinking about him, are you?”

Her jaw set. When she spoke, her voice was cold and final.

“Don’t be ridiculous.” She resumed walking, heels clicking against marble. “We’re filing the divorce paperwork next week. The certificate should arrive within the month. I never eat reheated leftovers, Damian. You should know that about me by now.”

Damian let out a sigh of relief and wrapped his arm around Vivian’s shoulders again, but for some reason, the doubt in Vivian’s heart refused to fade.

The face she had just seen looked far too much like Ethan’s. If

it really was him, she was practically certain that he had come to spy on her in secret, looking for an opportunity to reconcile.

After all, how could it be such a coincidence that she and Ethan crossed paths just as Lockwood Industries and Vincent Real Estate announced their partnership? He must have heard the news and blown what little savings he had left to come here, solely to engineer a “chance” encounter with her!

Vivian curled her lips into a smug smile; it seemed Ethan was finally regretting his choices. Throughout the entire time she was soaking in the hot spring with Damian, her eyes remained glued to the VIP passage, waiting for Ethan to emerge.

She was going to thoroughly humiliate him!

On the other side, Ethan sat rigid against the smooth stone edge of the pool.

He tried very hard not to think about the fact that he was currently submerged in a hot spring with two women in bikinis bracketing him like they’d carved out territory.

Bianca had claimed his left side. Aurora, after a long look that communicated something between apology and amusement, had taken his right.

“You know,” Bianca said, propping her elbow on the pool’s edge and resting her chin in her palm, “I’ve seen a lot of male physiques in my line of work. Models. Athletes. Personal trainers who spend more time on their abs than their personalities.”

Her gaze dragged down his chest. “But this? This is quality craftsmanship.”

Ethan’s jaw tightened. He turned his head toward Aurora.

‘I thought you said you’d stop her,’ his eyes said.

Aurora’s lips curved. ‘Is this really crossing a line? No one’s having sex. It’s just a bath.

‘I changed my mind on the spot,’ Aurora thought, thoroughly enjoying herself. ‘Who told Bianca to suggest touching your abs while we were changing earlier?’

“Look at this definition.” Bianca’s finger hovered an inch above his stomach, not quite touching. “You could grate cheese on these. Eight-pack. Maybe eight and a half. Is that a thing?”

Ethan clenched his jaw. The heat rising in his face had nothing to do with the water temperature.

He needed a distraction. Fast.

“So, Miss Donovan,” he said, forcing his voice steady. “Aurora mentioned you had a boyfriend once. College sweetheart?”

Bianca’s hand stilled on his shoulder.

Aurora burst out laughing. “Oh, you want to hear about that disaster? Let me tell you-”

“Don’t you dare-”

“Her first boyfriend was this gorgeous guy. I mean gorgeous. Looked like he walked off a runway. Delicate features, soft-spoken, never raised his voice.” Aurora was grinning now, clearly relishing this. They dated for six months. Never fought. Not once. It was sickeningly perfect.”

Ethan glanced at Bianca. Her expression had gone flat.

“Until,” Aurora continued, “we ran into him at the mall one weekend. Holding hands with another guy. Feeding him ice cream. Very… affectionate.”

Ethan’s eyebrows rose.

“Turns out,” Aurora said, barely containing her laughter, “he was gay the whole time. Dating Bianca was just cover so his roommates wouldn’t figure it out.”

Bianca’s face flushed red. “I’m going to drown you.”

“She put him in the hospital,” Aurora added cheerfully. “Broke his nose, cracked two ribs, and gave him a concussion. After that, every guy on campus was too terrified to ask her out. So she gave up on dating. entirely and dedicated her life to making money instead.”

“That’s it.” Bianca lunged sideways, grabbing Aurora around the waist.

Aurora shrieked, water splashing everywhere as the two women grappled in the pool.

The swimsuits clung tighter. Water streamed down bare shoulders. Aurora’s hair was plastered to her

neck, Bianca’s violet waves darkened and slicked back.

Ethan’s pulse kicked up a notch.

If he stared at this sensual scene any longer, he was going to get a public erection. And letting Aurora and Bianca-especially Bianca-see the prominent bulge in his swimwear was definitely not a good idea.

While the two women were still at it, Ethan quickly came up with a random excuse to leave the hot spring

area and headed down to the first-floor lounge.

“Ice water. Largest glass you have.”
