Chapter 95
Keira’s mind was a whirlwind. As she felt like she was about to pass out, Kamden slowly pulled
away.
He wasn’t satisfied yet, and as he left, he lightly licked her lips.
Kamden, who had always been as cold as an immortal in exile, had now entered the human world.
She was almost overwhelmed by this intense mix of emotions and desires.
Keira’s fingers were shaking, and she felt like she was losing it.
She tried to keep her cool, but as soon as she opened her mouth, her voice wavered. “Kamden, I’m really scared you’ll feel embarrassed if you remember it.”
She said it out loud, but deep down, she couldn’t help wondering why she had to be the one who was sober.
Her last bit of sanity was screaming at her to push Kamden away.
Kamden’s hand slid down her leg.
She was wearing shorts today.
His warm touch felt like a jolt of electricity.
Keira’s scalp tingled instantly.
His big hand squeezed her soft foot, making it tingly numb, and her heart felt the same way.
“Kamden…” Her heart raced.
She couldn’t help swallowing her saliva, her throat felt dry and she could hardly speak.
“I am here.”
Kamden’s voice was hoarse and intoxicated. It was incredibly captivating.
“Why aren’t you wearing shoes?” He looked at her bare feet.
Keira was at a loss for words.
Did it really matter now?
He seemed to be coming to his senses and frowned as he looked at their positions.
After a moment, he let go of her slowly.
Keira pressed herself against the wall, her feet firmly on the ground, trying to ground herself in reality.
“Kamden, are you sober now?”
His eyes were intense, and his Adam’s apple bobbed suggestively.
He replied casually, “Just had a few extra drinks. I’m not totally gone.”

Keira was stunned.
“Do you manage to do this while you are sober” she wondered.
He tilted his head down, pressing his face against her neck, inhaling her distinct and tempting fragrance.
Keira gently pushed him away, unsure if he was sober or not, but also worried he might be.
“Kamden?”
Kamden’s breathing was steady, and he had clearly drifted off to sleep.
Words failed Keira.
Keira lost it and started punching in the air.
She took a deep breath, her fingers trembling, as she struggled to help him onto the couch and poured him a cup of warm water to drink.
Then, without hesitation, she texted Jordon, “Jordon, if Kamden gets drunk again, give me a heads up, okay?”
Jordan replied, “What’s going on? Has Mr. Vaughan acted out of it?”

Jordan added, “This shouldn’t have happened. He hardly ever gets wasted, and when he does, he behaves himself.”
Keira texted, “Hmm, okay then.”
“It is just too hard for me,” she thought.
If it had been anyone else, she would have thought he was acting out of it on purpose, trying to take advantage of her.
She would have punched him right in the face.

But it was Kamden, and if he wanted a woman, there would be plenty lining up to volunteer.
Yet, he wasn’t interested in any of them.
She knew better than anyone else how abstemiqus he was.
These two instances of unusual behavior after drinking were restrained and held back.
It felt just like having a crush or unrequited love.
When Keira thought about that scene, it was like her head was about to burst.
She took a deep breath, trying to convince herself it was all in her mind.
She slapped her face, tried to calm down, and then pulled him back into the room.
“Skip the shower. Just sleep with your clothes on,” she said, hands on her hips, acting like she didn’t care about him at all.
