There was no guarantee Chairman Carter would ever return. The safest plan was to slowly transition management to Yonki Saunders.

Richard thought back to the man. He had always kept a low profile. He was also a company veteran and more than capable of handling the responsibility.

Since his daughter had already made up her mind, Richard didn’t object.

“Now that the product launch was such a success, I’d like to buy gifts for the employees who made the biggest contributions.”

“Of course.” Richard nodded approvingly. “People who work hard deserve to be rewarded. That’s how you keep talented employees.”

Chloe sat quietly beside them. She couldn’t contribute anything to conversations about business. Finally, during a brief lull in the discussion, she hurriedly changed the subject.

“Mom, Dad—I have good news! One of my paintings was selected for a national exhibition!”

“That’s wonderful, Chloe!”

“Both of our daughters are treasures. Beautiful and talented.”

Richard and Eleanor praised her generously.

For a fleeting moment, Chloe felt as though everything had gone back to how it used to be.

Before Iris had returned, her parents used to praise her like this.

She instructed one of the servants to open the box.

Inside was a small household robot.

It resembled the smart service robots used in hotels, complete with long mechanical arms, legs, and wheels.

Beaming, Chloe introduced it.

Once activated, the screen lit up.
