“Miss, remember the person you asked me to track down? We finally got a lead.”
Even Iris hadn’t expected them to work this quickly. The moment Venus’s product launch wrapped up, news had already come in.
“It’s just that… Miss, this guy wasn’t exactly easy to investigate.”
The information broker on the other end sounded hesitant.
“How much?”
She knew exactly what he was after. He wanted to raise his price.
“I like doing business with straightforward people like you! We handle information deals every day, so money isn’t what we’re lacking. What we really need is… expansion.”
When she remained silent, he continued.
“We’ve been looking to expand into Capital City for quite some time. If you could help us secure a suitable location…”
The gap between Capital City and Lystra was enormous. For an intelligence broker, once you had a stable client base, it was only natural to seek bigger markets.
“No problem.”
Light Bar had been performing well lately. Opening a branch office wouldn’t be difficult.
The broker hadn’t expected her to agree so readily. It seemed Miss Noir’s influence in Capital City was even greater than he’d imagined.
With his goal achieved, he stopped being evasive.
“Mr. Carter is currently staying at a private rehabilitation facility. Unfortunately, we only know the general area, not the exact location.”
“Send me everything you have.”

After ending the call, the broker immediately forwarded the information to Iris.
Meanwhile, Chloe had just finished a dance, though her mind had clearly been elsewhere. When she saw Iris step away to answer a phone call, she immediately sensed an opportunity.
Her dance partner had just taken out his phone to ask for her contact information. By the time he looked up, she was already hurrying toward another man.
“Ares! Where’s my sister?”
“She stepped away to take a call.”
Chloe nodded thoughtfully.
“But the party only started a little while ago. Standing here by yourself must be boring. How about I keep you company for a dance?”
A playful smile spread across her face.
“My dancing was personally coached by world–class instructors. Don’t you want to see what I can do?”
Ares Barclay saw right through her intentions at a glance. He took several steps back, maintaining a proper social distance.
“What attracts me has never been how impressive the dance is. It’s the person who’s dancing.”
Besides, his Iris danced beautifully.
Without another word, he turned and headed in Iris’s direction.
Chloe remained where she was, gripping the fabric of her dress tightly in both hands.
Though furious, she didn’t chase after him.
After several encounters, she had already realized that Ares and Iris’s relationship was stronger than ever. At the very least, now was not the right time to interfere.

Overall, Stellar Venture’s second–anniversary celebration had gone smoothly, aside from the disturbance caused by the Sutton family. Zane Walker could be considered to have successfully completed the task his boss had assigned him.
As for that disturbance, it followed the Sutton family all the way back to Kingsley.
Samuel Sutton and Vanessa Sutton had originally planned to ride home with Mayor Vaughn. After waiting so long for him to emerge, however, the moment he saw them, he reacted as though he’d encountered a plague. He immediately got into his car and drove off.
Offending Stellar Venture because of those two would be a disastrous loss.
Even some of the guests whom the couple had unintentionally mocked earlier seized the opportunity to return the favor.
“Aren’t you Stellar Venture’s long–term partners? Why are you looking for a ride home?”
“Want to ride with me? Oh, sorry, I forgot. My car’s probably too small for people of your status.”
“You-”
Vanessa was so angry she started to argue, but Samuel quickly pulled her back.
The two had no choice but to take another car back to Kingsley.
The atmosphere inside the vehicle was utterly miserable.
“This is all your fault! Didn’t you say Danny was completely reliable?”
The more Vanessa thought about it, the angrier she became. She swung her handbag and smacked Samuel again.
Clutching his chest, Samuel coughed several times.
“How was I supposed to know Danny was a fraud? He took the money and fled overseas!”
