“That person? You mean…”

That night, chaos erupted inside the kidnappers‘ hideout.

Several hackers sat frantically in front of their computers, trying to repair the compromised trad network.

“What the hell is wrong with you people?”

One of the kidnappers paced behind them impatiently.

“Aren’t you all supposed to be famous hackers on the GHE rankings? Why is it taking this long to fix one system?”

The man at the keyboard turned around and stared at him as if he were an idiot.

“If you don’t know what you’re talking about, then stop talking.”

He pointed angrily at the screen.

“Do you even know who wrote this attack program?”

The kidnapper frowned. “Who?”

“The Number One hacker on GHE.”

The room fell silent.

“In front of someone like that, we’re less than dust.”

The hacker swallowed nervously.

“Even if this is an old program they wrote years ago, there’s no way we’re fixing it anytime soon.”

At the Noir family villa, Iris sat in front of her computer.

A folder named GHE.H was open on the desktop.

GHE.

Global Hacker Exchange.

Inside were dozens of compressed files organized by date.

They were archives from jobs she had accepted years ago.

Iris opened one of the programs ar a entered the identification code she had embedded in Emma’s teddy

bear.

Chapter 227 Emma’s Teddy Bear

Emma carried that bear everywhere she went.

Earlier in the day, a simplified tracking system had failed to locate it.

This time, Iris was using the full version.

Suddenly-

A red dot appeared on a map of Capital City.

Her eyes narrowed.

“What…?”

Nearby, a small robot rolled around the room.

The constant whirring of its wheels was becoming irritating.

Ever since Iris revoked Chloe’s administrative access, the footage Chloe could view had become blurry and heavily restricted.

Judging by recent behavior, Chloe seemed increasingly anxious.

After a moment’s thought, Iris opened the robot’s permissions panel and entered a new command.

The robot immediately turned around.

Then rolled straight out of the room.

Moments later, live footage from Chloe’s bedroom appeared on Iris’s screen.

Chloe sat on her bed scrolling through her phone, visibly annoyed.

“How is this thing already broken?” She shook the phone furiously. “The image is so blurry I can’t see anything! Stupid manufacturer. I’m filing a complaint.”

On Iris’s high–definition monitor, Chloe’s frustration was perfectly clear.

Iris remotely controlled the robot and entered another command.

Instantly, the surveillance feed on Chloe’s phone turned completely black.

“Today’s been awful.” Chloe tossed her phone aside. “Mom, Dad, and Ares still refuse to blame Iris. And now this stupid thing isn’t working either.”

As Iris watched, Chloe reached for a backpack beside the bed.

Then she pulled something out

A teddy bear.

Emma’s teddy bear.

Iris pupils contracted.

No wonder the tracker was active.

The signal had been appearing near Crown Heights Estate all along.

Chloe grabbed the bear by one leg and walked toward the camera.

Then Iris heard her mutter:

“This function should still work, right? I’ll put it in Iris’s room. Let’s see if Mom and Dad still trust her afterward.”

Suddenly Chloe shouted:

“Hey! Get back here! You stupid thing!”

The camera angle began spinning wildly.

The robot darted around the room at high speed.

Occasionally, Chloe’s blurry figure flashed through the frame as she chased after it.

Crash.

Bang.

Thud.

Objects toppled everywhere.

“What happened in here?”

The bedroom door suddenly flew open.

Richard, Eleanor, and Vincent stood in the doorway looking alarmed.

Behind Vincent stood Iris.

She silently observed the disaster zone the robot had created.

Chloe immediately threw Emma’s teddy bear into a nearby pile of stuffed animals before scrambling to

her feet.

“I don’t know! I told it to help organize my clothes. Then it suddenly started running everywhere!”

The family stared at the robot.

It stood perfectly still in the corner.

Chapter 227 Emma’s Teddy Bear

Quiet.

Harmless.

Completely innocent–looking.

Behind them, Iris discreetly disabled the remote–control program on her phone.

The robot instantly returned to normal behavior.

“I’m serious!” Chloe protested desperately. “It was racing all over my room!”

Eleanor glanced at Richard. Her expression clearly said:

Is she hallucinating from stress?‘

Richard looked equally confused. Experimentally, he pointed toward the hallway.

“Go outside.”
