Ethan finally let out a sigh of relief.

“Thank goodness. That last section only accounts for about ten percent of the piece. The other niety percent is original. The artistic value of the composition is obvious. They probably won’t make ig deal out of it.”
Iris genuinely wondered how the mayor’s son had made it this far in life.
She turned to him and asked,
“And how do you know the first ninety percent is her original work?”
The piece Olivia had just performed reminded Iris of someone she hadn’t thought about in a long time.
The same little girl she and Darius had discussed over dinner before.
The melody sounded familiar not only to Mr. Liam, but to Iris as well.
Because she had written it herself years ago.
Back when she was teaching that little girl violin.
The child would describe the emotions and stories she wanted to express, and Iris would transform those feelings into music.
Later, the girl moved away and took the composition with her.
Iris had never expected to hear it again.
Much less hear it with a completely different ending attached to it.
Onstage, the judges exchanged glances and began discussing the matter quietly among themselves.
Except for Professor Park, most of the judges felt that the composer behind the piece was a once–in–a- generation talent who deserved admission to the association.
As for incorporating someone else’s melody, they believed that with proper guidance, such behavior could be corrected.
Technical shortcomings could also be improved over time.
True talent was much rarer.
Professor Park remained silent.
In her opinion, someone capable of claiming another person’s work as their own should never be brought into the association.
Doing so would only damage its culture.

Unfortunately, most of the judges were newer members.
Few of them shared her views.
If the final decision came down to a vote. Olivia might actually be admitted.
Just as she was about to seek help from Mr. Liam, he spoke first.
“She cannot be admitted.”
The auditorium immediately fell silent.

Mr. Liam carried enormous authority within the violin world. He was also a special professor Affiliated with the Capital City Violin Association.
Everyone respected him.
The moment those words left his mouth, it felt like a death sentence for Olivia’s application.
“This isn’t fair!” The words burst out before she could stop herself. “Why can’t I join the association? Several of the other judges think I’m qualified. And regarding the ending melody, I’ve already apologized, I swear I won’t use AI to compose again.”
Mr. Liam slowly rose to his feet.
“You believe the reason you deserve admission is because of the first ninety percent of that composition. Am I correct?”
Olivia clenched her fists and nodded.
“Then what if I told you I’ve heard the original version of the piece?”
“The same ninety percent you’re so proud of.”
The candidates waiting backstage were stunned.
The association members watching from the audience were equally shocked.
The livestream exploded.
“Is this really an entrance exam? This is better than reality TV!”
“Oh
my
God. Has this girl told a single truthful thing all day?”
“Not necessarily. What if the judge is mistaken? He’s elderly. Maybe he remembered wrong.”
“Please stop making excuses. Do you even know who he is? He’s one of the most influential violinists in the entire country. You think he remembered wrong?”
The chat immediately erupted into arguments.

Chapter 294 The Outcome
Meanwhile, onstage, sweat began forming in Olivia’s palms.
“What proof do you have?”
“Proof?” Mr. Liam smiled. “Of course I have proof.”
Then he pointed toward the audience.
Toward Iris.
“Because the original composer is sitting right there.”
Every head in the auditorium turned.
All eyes landed on Iris.
Mr. Liam continued, “My words alone won’t convince everyone.”
“So let’s let Iris come up here and perform the original version. Then everyone will understand.”
Ethan felt as though another earthquake had struck his world.
He wanted to say something to Iris.
Anything.
But she ignored him completely.
Carrying her violin, Iris walked onto the stage and stopped beside Olivia.
Then she began to play.
The melody was the same.
Yet the feeling was entirely different.
Under Olivia’s performance, the piece had sounded mournful and tragic, descending into endless darkness.
In Iris’s hands, the opening still carried sadness.
But gradually, strength emerged.
Momentum built.
Hope appeared.
