Derek personally escorted them to the entrance of Bridge Hill Manor, Just as they were about to leave, Iris’s phone rang.
She glanced at the screen.
Vanessa Sutton.
Only then did everyone remember that Olivia had been abducted along with Chloe.
Iris looked at Derek before calmly answering the call and switching it to speaker.
“Iris, was it you?” Vanessa’s anxious voice came through immediately. “Was it you who kidnapped Olivia? I’ve been looking for her for days… I haven’t found a single lead…” His voice gradually broke. “Please… I’m begging you. Give Olivia back.”
Before Iris could respond, Damian exploded.
“Who the hell are you? What gives you the right to accuse Iris? Sounds to me like your family is just incompetent. Don’t come crying to us like some stray dog. It’s pathetic.”
“You… Who are you? How dare you talk to me like that! Do you even know who I am? My family has influence in Capital City!”
Vincent calmly took over.
“We’re the Noir family from Capital City. Since you’re so influential there, why don’t you ask the people in Capital City for help instead of harassing Iris?”
Without saying a single word, Iris watched as her two brothers completely shut Vanessa down.
For the first time, she truly understood what it felt like to have someone protect her.
Standing nearby, Chloe burned with jealousy.
Suddenly, she spoke up.
“I saw Olivia. She really was kidnapped with me. But after that… I don’t know where they took her.”
The moment she finished speaking, Iris, Vincent, and Damian all turned to Derek.
He let out a silent sigh.
How did I end up offending someone this troublesome?’
“I honestly didn’t kidnap the Miss Sutton you’re talking about,” he said helplessly. “Please don’t look at me like that.”
After a moment’s thought, he continued, “Although… one of my subordinates did mention meeting someone with the last name. Sutton. They claimed to have an appointment with one of the Stanford family’s senior executives. But I came here specifically because of Miss Noir. No one else was scheduled to meet with us, so there’s no reason we would have kidnapped that woman.”
Iris studied him for a few seconds before nodding.
“Mr. Stanford, we believe you. We’ll be leaving now. Perhaps we’ll meet again someday.”

With that, she headed straight for the SUV.
Vincent and Damian hurried after her
“Iris,” Vincent asked, “why are you in such a rush?”
“There’s something off about him.”
“Hut?” Vincent frowned. “What do you mean? I didn’t notice anything.”

“Chloe clearly said she saw Olivia. If Chloe remained under his people’s control the entire time, then he absolutely knew who Olivia was. But just now he acted as though he’d never even heard of her.”
Damian thought it over before nodding. “You’re right. He’s the Stanford family’s representative in the United States. Someone who made it to that position wouldn’t overlook something that obvious.”
Vincent opened the driver’s door. “Let’s go. One thing’s certain-whatever this is, it isn’t aimed at us. There’s no reason for us to get dragged into someone else’s mess.”
Just then, Chloe caught up with them.
“You guys walked so fast. Why didn’t you wait for me?”
Before anyone else could answer, Vincent looked back from the driver’s seat.
“Get in. We’re heading home.”
The four of them climbed into the SUV and drove away from Bridge Hill Manor.
“Iris, when are you flying back?”
“The day after tomorrow. My ticket’s already booked.”
Ares sighed. “I wanted to take you sightseeing while we were here, but one thing after another kept happening. There’s a private auction tomorrow night. Want to come? Think of it as making up for everything.”
After a moment’s thought, Iris realized she had nothing planned for the following evening.
“Sure.”
After hanging up, Iris’s phone chimed with a new notification. The message was from an unknown number.
[Iris, I’m your third brother, Ace. Something came up, so I’ll meet you after I get back to the country. See you soon, little sister.]
Iris frowned.
After a moment’s consideration, she typed a simple reply.
(Okay 1
She put her phone down, and they soon returned to the Noir residence.
