Chapter 140 I Won’t Go

Noelle brushed past Ethan and stepped into the room. When she saw Sebastian, the cold edge on her face disappeared, replaced with a warm, bright smile. “Honey!”

Her voice lifted playfully at the end–soft, teasing, and only for him.

Ethan watched the scene, his gaze darkening.

When Royce and Olivia saw Zeke being dragged off, the truth hit them. He was a fraud, and Noelle actually had connections with Alliance 749. Shocked, they hurriedly ushered Sebastian and Noelle out.

Sebastian and Noelle didn’t intend to linger anyway. Noelle wrote out a prescription, telling them to brew the medicine and give it to Theodore on schedule each day. Within a few days, he would fully recover.

She turned around and saw Ethan still looking calm, which only made her more anxious. “Ethan, why aren’t you worried at all?! Sebastian has a powerful ally now. “Uncle Royce, Aunt Olivia, it’s getting late. You should go home and rest,” Ethan said coolly, having someone escort them out.

They left, grumbling under their breath.

Ethan returned to Theodore’s room.

Two servants were tending to him.

Ethan dismissed them, then stayed behind. He pulled over a small stool and sat by the bed. Listening to Theodore’s steady breathing, he closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep, resting his head against Theodore’s hand.

“No,” Noelle said, looking at him. “You’ve been up all night, too. You need to sleep properly as well!”

As she spoke, she lifted the blanket and patted the large space beside her. “Look, the bed is huge. There’s plenty of room for both of us! I promise I won’t get any wild ideas, won’t touch you, won’t do anything inappropriate, and won’t have any dirty thoughts. Feel better now?”

Sebastian chuckled, amusement sparkling in his brown eyes. What kind of girl would talk like that?

Her playful antics swept away the heaviness weighing on him over family matters.

“I’m really going to sleep now!” Noelle said, forming circles with her hands over her eyes, leaving only her big eyes visible. “If I don’t, I’ll wake up with huge dark circles! You don’t want a pretty girl walking around like that, right? So stop talking and sleep!”

She tugged Sebastian straight onto the bed, giving him zero chance to object.
