Kevin jerked his head up, disbelief bursting into his eyes. “Alliance 749? C–can we really join?”
“The Alliance welcomes all. What matters is character and potential, not background.” Serena explained with a smile, her gaze resting on Kevin’s eyes, where the fire still hadn’t gone out, even in despair. “On the ring, you were willing to die to protect your sister. Even when cornered, you still found a chance to strike back. That mindset, resilience, and quick thinking
are rare.”
Noelle nodded as well. “You’re impressive and qualified to join Alliance 749. As for your sister…”
She looked at Helen, her tone gentle. “The Alliance also has administrative, logistics, and training roles suitable for her growth. We’ll make sure there’s something for her to do.”
Kevin’s thin body trembled with emotion as he saluted them. This time, Noelle didn’t stop him.
“We’re willing to follow you and join Alliance 749! We promise we’ll never betray the Alliance or the grace you’ve given us!”
The boy’s voice was choked with emotion but unwavering. He looked up at Noelle as if she were a god.
Noelle and Serena still needed to stay in Marnsburg to treat the First Lady, so they first brought Kevin and Helen back to the Marnsburg villa. After the treatment was completed, they would all return together to the Alliance 749 headquarters in Florasia.
The villa was large, and the rooms were arranged for both Kevin and Helen.
Noelle also went back to her room to rest.
She went back to video–call her husband.
Sebastian picked up almost instantly.
“Honey! It’s only been a day, and I already miss you like crazy!”
Sebastian’s voice carried a hint of laughter. “I miss you too.”
“Noelle!” Lucas stuck his head into the frame. “How’s it going over there? No one giving you a hard time, right?”
“Oh, someone almost did!” Noey said.

“Who dared bully you?” Lucas laughed. “You sure it wasn’t you bullying someone else?”
“I’m so delicate. Of course, someone else bullied me. Right, honey?”
Sebastian laughed softly. “Yeah. You’re so delicate, Noey.”
The two of them were being so sweet it gave Lucas goosebumps, and he was about to step out and stop listening.
Just then, there was a light knock on Noelle’s door.
Noelle said casually, “Come in.”
The next second, the door opened, and Kevin walked in.
Noelle happened to have her back to the door, and the camera was aimed right at her face and the doorway, so Kevin was instantly visible as he walked in.
“Holy crap!”
Lucas shouted first. “Noelle! You’re hiding a guy in your room?”
On the other end, Sebastian’s expression froze for a moment.
Kevin stopped in his tracks, clearly not expecting Noelle to be on a video call. “I didn’t know you were on a call. Sorry. I’ll just…”
“Holy crap! He even sounds younger than Sebastian!” Lucas shouted again in shock.
“It’s fine. Wait a second.” Noelle said impatiently to him, then turned to the phone. “Lucas, stop talking nonsense. What do you mean, hiding a guy? This is a pair of siblings I rescued today. The brother’s name is Kevin. Honey, don listen to Lucas. He’s just here to say thanks. Besides…
She deliberately paused, smiling sweetly at Sebastian. “Even if there were ten or eight handsome guys like this, they still wouldn’t compare to you. You know who’s in my heart, don’t you?”
Sebastian looked at her playful expression. The light ripple in his eyes instantly settled into a deep warmth. He gave a low hum, the corner his lips lifting into a faint but genuine
smile.
“Honey, wait for me a bit. I’ll talk to him for a moment.”
“Okay.” Sebastian nodded lightly.
Noelle set her phone on the desk, walked to the door, and looked at Kevin. “You need
