“Everyone’s safe, but someone broke in,” Kevin answered. Chaos and shouting filled the background. “Darell was nearby and blocked them in. Where are you?”

“We’re on our way back.”

She hung up and turned to the driver. “Turn around. Head to the Guzmans!”

At the Guzman Residence, the car had barely stopped before Noelle pushed open the door and hurried inside.

Sebastian and Lucas followed close behind. Serena tossed her keys and caught up, her footsteps quick and light.

The living room was bathed in bright light.

Angus sat in the main seat, his face dark as thunder, but he seemed unharmed.

His uncles stood behind him, eyes burning with anger. A few servants swept up shards of broken glass from the floor.

In the center of the room, a man in black was bound tightly, forced to kneel.

His face was battered, blood staining his mouth, but his eyes were sharp and poisonous, a viper ready to strike.

Two people stood nearby.

One was Kevin, a young man in casual clothes, his face still shadowed by the fury of a recent fight.

The other had heterochromic eyes, one gold, one blue, and in the bright room they seemed to hold secrets no one could read.

It was Darell.

He stood there, presence cold and sharp as a blade. But when Noelle walked in, something flickered in those strange eyes–a ripple disturbing the stillness, quickly swallowed up by calm.

Chapter 474 Mysterious Mother

“Noelle,” he said, his voice as steady as ever, yet edged with relief, “We caught him.”

Noelle nodded, stepping forward to face the kneeling man.

Darell stayed by her side. “I’ve been guarding the Guzman Residence these past days. Haven’t slept,” he confessed, his eyes rimmed red, shoulders straight. “I knew they would come.”

Noelle gave him a gentler look. “You’ve worked hard.”

Darell didn’t reply. He just dropped his gaze and turned away.

Noelle crouched, meeting the man’s cold stare.

A mocking smile twisted his lips.

“Who are you?” she asked.

He sneered, refusing to answer.

“Why attack the Guzmans?”

Still, he kept silent, eyes calculating, as if measuring her up for a coffin.

Suddenly, a chilling laugh echoed through the room. “Why? No reason! We will never accept a world where that woman’s happy. Her bastard shouldn’t dream of happiness either!”

Noelle’s eyes narrowed. “So you really are after Sebastian’s mother.”

“Glad you figured it out.” The man grinned, blood staining his teeth. “Too bad she died too early. Otherwise…

“She’s dead, so there’s nothing we can do to her.” His voice was twisted with satisfaction. “But her son is still alive. As long as he suffers, we rejoice. The worse his pain, the better our day. Isn’t that a fair trade?”

Noelle’s voice turned to ice. “So she’s gone, and now you hunt her son. If he dares to be happy, you’ll destroy everything he has?”

“Smart,” the man sneered, baring his teeth. “Anyone close to that bastard ends badly. You, the Guzmans, even that Steele kid who follows him around–none of you will escape.”

Lucas’s face darkened, but he said nothing.

Noelle pressed him. “Who are you really? Who was Sebastian’s mother? How did she die?”

The man only laughed, lips sealed.
