Chapter 65 The Battle for Wanderroot

There were a few doctors in the room who recognized Wanderroot, but none of them planned to bid. Its nature was too violent. It could not be safely used as medicine, so buying it would only be a waste.

“600,000 dollars!”

A woman’s voice rang out.

It was Serena.

The hall fell silent. The bidders clearly showed little interest. No one here really wanted Wanderroot.

Noelle curved her lips into a small smile. Just as she expected, Wanderroot was rare, but very few people could actually use it. That was why most bidders chose to give up without even trying.

Wanderroot was hers.

She was sure of it.

Just then, a calm, refined male voice sounded right beside Noelle. “700,000!”

Lucas immediately backed him up. “Exactly! I don’t think this Wanderroot is that useful, but if you want it, we’ll get it. We had money.”

In the private room next door, Serena frowned. She hadn’t expected anyone to compete with her. “800,000!” She called out again.

“One million,” Sebastian replied at once.

“Haha.” Serena laughed in anger. “Who is bidding against me? Picking a fight now?”

“Vice Leader,” her subordinate said after stepping out to check, “it’s the room next to us. The bidder is Sebastian Menzie.”

“It’s him?”

Serena sneered. So this was payback, was it? Was he upset that she hadn’t invited the miracle healer for him?

He didn’t even know medicine. What use did Wanderroot have for him? This was clearly a deliberate, hostile bid to mess with her.

“Five million!” she called coldly, purposely raising the price.

“10 million,” Sebastian answered calmly.

Noelle was at a loss.

“Honey, I don’t really want it,” Noelle said, forcing a smile that looked more like she was about to cry. “Maybe we should stop bidding?”

“You don’t want it?” Lucas snorted. “Your face is screaming, ‘I want it!’ 10 million is nothing. We can afford it. Remember, the one thing we never lack is money.”

Sebastian gave Noelle a reassuring look, telling her not to worry. He would get it for her.

“But who exactly is bidding against us?” Lucas muttered in frustration. “Sounds like they’re on the same floor.”

Noelle typed quickly. “Serena, stop bidding for now.”

Serena replied right away. “Why? Don’t you really want that Wanderroot? And if we stop now, won’t it look like we’re scared of him?”

Noelle answered calmly, “Don’t worry. I can make him give the Wanderroot back to me for free, and he’ll do it willingly.”

Serena instantly perked up. “Really?!”
