Sebastian lay flat on the bed. When he heard Lucas’s words, the corner of his lips lifted slightly.

He could also feel that his body was much lighter. All of this was thanks to Noelle’s medicated bath.

“I didn’t expect Noelle to be this amazing,” Lucas said. “The situation was so dangerous just now. I was really afraid you wouldn’t make it. Turns out you’re amazing too.”

Sebastian looked up and saw Noelle walking in quietly with a tray of congee and a light side dish. Her steps were soft. There was a hint of tiredness on her face, but her eyes were clear and gentle.

As she spoke, she sat down by the bed and reached out to touch his forehead. A medicated bath could easily cause a high fever, so her movements were skilled and gentle.

Sebastian looked at her, his voice low and hoarse. “I’m okay.”

Seeing how close they were, Lucas rubbed his nose and wisely slipped out of the room. He even thoughtfully closed the door behind him.

After a moment of silence, Sebastian finally spoke. There was a faint hint of surrender in his voice. “It does hurt a little.”

Noelle’s heart tightened.

Images flashed through her mind of Sebastian during the detox. He had been drenched in sweat, gripping the edge of the bathtub so hard that his palms bled.
